Part 19 || happy birthday

<1 week later>

Jake's POV

*sigh* school hasn't been the same without y/n and it was obvious with everyone's mood. No one has been cheerful no ones been smiling and the vibe of the groups been weird. We're graduating in 2 weeks and it's y/n's birthday tomorrow. So we'll finally be free from our mother and her horrible ways. When she found out about the news of y/n she just blamed her for running out carelessly and she said she won't be paying for her medical expenses. Pshhh she doesn't even care about us. I'm still mad at Heeseung though... but he's been trying to get my blessing and he's been reaching out but I just couldn't say yes. He's been laying low lately well ever since that incident

<flashback>

Heeseung: "can't you understand that I love her!" He shouted at me in the rooftop of the school

Jake: "I know but I can't let you be with her if you're gonna leave her like you did in the house!"

Heeseung: "I DIDN'T MEAN TO OK! I WAS HURT THAT SHE WAS PUSHING ME AWAY!" He started crying "I never thought I would feel love or be able to love someone... she's my world Jake... please let me be with her... she loves me too and I know it!" I bit my lip knowing it was true "so please let us be together" I didn't know what to say so I stormed out leaving him there

Ever since then Heeseung hasn't been bothering me as much but he still tries to get my approval. School is already finished and we all agreed to prepare something for y/n's birthday tomorrow. As I was about to exit the classroom Heeseung approached me

Heeseung: "I'll be passing by y/n tomorrow to greet her so just expect me to be there" he left before I could say anything. I told the others I needed time alone so I was walking by myself with me and my thoughts. As I was waking I was just thinking, the longer y/n stays in the hospital the higher the bill will get, which will equal to less money for us to survive. Should I get a job? I sighed not knowing what to do. The lawyer contacted me saying he'll transfer y/n's share to her bank account tomorrow. Well that's one step

<next day>

Jake's POV

It was a Saturday today so we didn't have to go to school. I walked out of the flower shop and bought y/n's favorite flowers. Everyone is meeting up in the entrance of the hospital in 30mins so I better get going, the hospital is pretty far. I hoped in my car and started driving. What will life be like once y/n wakes up? When will she wake up? Should I let her be with Heeseung? Will she still love him after everything? My frown stayed on my face as I thought about it more. Aishh none of that matters now, what matters is that y/n wakes up as soon as she can. She can't just leave me here... I wiped my tear off my face as soon as I felt it trickling down.

<hospital>

I entered the hospital and Enhypen and Yeji stood up as soon as they saw me. I smiled at all of them and gave Yeji a kiss but when my eyes landed on Heeseung I just looked at him and sighed. It's been really hard between us...

We slid open the door of y/n and still saw her lying with a mask connected to machines. I placed the flowers beside her and took out the letter I prepared for her.

Jake: "hey y/n, Happy Birthay you're finally 18 now, I know you can't hear me but some people say that a person in a coma can hear the things around them but they just can't respond, so here I go. I know that life's been tough on us but we're graduating soon and the lawyer was able to place the money in your bank account so as soon as you wake up we can leave. We can be free and study at any college we get accepted to. We'll travel the world we'll get an apartment and we can even get a dog like you always wanted" I teared up again "just please wake up soon. Love you sis" Yeji came up from behind me and back hugged me. I stood up and cried on her shoulder.

Enhypen: "well we didn't prepare individual letter but we wrote one together" some of them sat and some just stood beside her bed. "Hey y/n we really miss you and happy birthday. We really miss you always teasing us and also seeing you fight with your brother, and just always making us happy. You were there to put a smile on our faces. So please don't put a frown on our faces... we pray that you'll wake up soon. We love you" they cried too and moved aside

Sunghoon: "I'll go next..." he said sitting down on the chair "Happy birthday y/n, I hope you wake up soon so that we can go ice skating again. You're the only person who can ice skate almost as good as me. I need a partner ok? So you better wake up soon because I really miss you. You're a great friend and sister, I really don't want to lose a person like you in my life so please get up and put a smile on our faces again. I love you" he wiped a tear while standing up and covered his face. Yeahhh we're all hurt

Yeji: "Happy birthday bitch" she chuckled sadly "I miss you, I miss our times we spent in the mall I miss all the gossips we talk about, I miss watching dramas with you I miss our sleepovers and so many more. You came into my life when I was at my worst. You approached me in our elementary school cafeteria once you saw I had no friends. You offered me an apple and I remember taking it while crying. Now I hate bringing that memory up since you always laugh at me but now I miss those times. Please wake up so we can hangout again. Love you bitch..." she smiled sadly wiping her tears from her face.

Heeseung: "uhh this is kinda awkward but I have some things I want to say..." he went and sat on the chair staring at y/n. He then started crying without even saying what he wanted to say. He held y/n's hand and cupped it in between his and brought it near his face crying.

Heeseung: "I'm sorry y/n... it's all my fault you're here right now. If I didn't storm out and get mad at you then you wouldn't be in this situation. You're only here because I felt bad since you were pushing me away and because of your kind heart you went and ran after me to apologize. I feel guilty every single day just thinking about you. The seat beside me is always empty and I always try to avoid looking at it because it reminds me of you. Everytime I see it I always remember you teasing me in the middle of class and our little competitions. I miss our small fights even the big ones because they brought us closer. I really enjoyed our dance project together. At first I thought it'd be the most tedious thing because I was partnered up with you but honestly... those have been the days when I've never felt so much happiness. Yes we've fought a lot in there but I felt like we really connected. That made you the only person I can fully trust and also the only person who can make my heart flutter and the only person who understands me" he cried even more and held y/n's hand tighter "you know I just didn't realize it but slowly I was falling in love with you... I kept denying my feelings because I knew you would reject me. I knew we were enemies but I couldn't stop my feelings. My feelings that told me I love you" he let go of her hand and stood up wiping his tear "happy birthday y/n" he bent down and kissed her forehead. He looked back up at us and looked away

Heeseung: "so-sorry that was really long... I sh-should go" he left instantly leaving us all in complete silence
