(content/trigger warning for minor violence and gore)"My darling!"
As the words met your ears, a sudden cry escaped your lips while pain overtook your body, vision blurring and knees becoming weak. With adrenaline spreading through your veins, you used what strength you had and ripped yourself away from the sparking screen of your computer, heart pounding as if you had just run a marathon. You should've just unplugged it, you should have just left it be and went to sleep on the sofa. But no, you had to be curious and choose the most terrible choice in this situation. After tumbling straight back onto your arse, you felt something weigh you down. Something that wasn't supposed to.
Your vision was still as hazy and blurred as ever, everything jumbling together like a falsified code; a script that was poorly written by a primitive coder. One thing you knew for certain, however, was that your hand stung like a bitch. It felt as if it was being torn apart, as if flames had lightly licked your skin before delving in like an unforgiving forest fire. It felt like your hand was being torn apart from the inside out, strangely enough.
Through blurry vision, you saw an unfamiliar head of blonde hair right in front of you, directly above you. As the head was lifted, you saw those same baby blue eyes stare directly into your own as if this was some slash fanfiction. Your heart plummeted and began to pound against your ribcage painfully, pulsating at the back of your skull. What the fuck?
Senpai was above you. On top of you in an almost playful manner. He was real, not pixels restrained by a screen or coding of software. He was actually here. And, fuck, he looked pissed. Though, that expression quickly faltered to a more love-struck one, eyebrows creasing upwards. Despite yourself, you were afraid of him. Of this arrangement. His next words were unprecedented in intensity; almost as if it were a seething signal of what you had gotten yourself into all those weeks, even months ago. A reminder of a foreboding omen foretelling the imminent collapse of the very core of your very being and existence.
You wanted to be understanding, you wanted to keep an open mind, but every bone in your body was begging for you to not trust him, to run away and hide, to escape. He hadn't even done anything to harm you, and yet, you felt like your life was threatened. You felt as if your freedom had been stripped away, forcefully.
"Darling," the words wavered from Senpai, right above you. "I'm real. I'm finally real, just like you." You felt hands slip up to your face, gently pressing against your cheeks as nimble thumbs brushed against your cold skin. "You look even more beautiful in real life. We can finally be together." A smile crawled up to his face, almost too innocent for your liking. "Why do you have that expression on your face, (Y/N)? Aren't you happy?" You were screwed. You felt screwed.
But you didn't feel like going down without a fight. So, was he the one that was screwed in this situation?
You screamed, damn near screeched, and drew your fist back, immediately throwing an angry punch to his face while you pulled your legs back to kick him off. Luckily, he flew back and held his nose with a wail as his eyes began to water, seemingly surprised that you ever would think about rejecting, much less hurting him. You got yourself into this situation, and you would find a way to get yourself out of it. Moreover, you didn't care about how he felt as the adrenaline pumped through your veins. You couldn't find it in you to even care.
Maybe you were overreacting, maybe you weren't, but your safety was your top priority in this situation. You scrambled up to your feet and raced to your door, frantically wriggling the knob in order to open it. Within your brain, you felt as if he had already grabbed you, but he had immediately jumped to his feet, dragging himself across the floor to reach you, all to no avail - he barely grasped your shirt before you dashed out the door, and, oh, if only you saw the expression on his face. It was priceless, completely struck with emotions that were too deadly to be given to a single man, let alone one who had never existed in reality prior to this exact moment today.
That didn't matter, though, did it? He was moving pretty damn fast for a man who originated from a goddamn dating simulator game.
"(Y/N)!" He cried out to you as you stumbled across your house, his words reverberating in your brain and bouncing off the thin walls of somewhere you would once call your safe place. And yet, here you were - feeling like a caged animal. As if Senpai was your inescapable owner. Maybe you shouldn't have been so hostile, but then again, what else were you supposed to do? It wasn't every day that a fictional character was pulled from a video game, hurting you in the process and acting as if he was your long lost lover.
Speaking of pain, the adrenaline within your veins was beginning to dilapidate, leaving the numbing pain in your hand to finally reach your brain, registering as an injury. Curiously, you looked down at your hand, your gut dropping when you see what has happened to it. Your hand was covered in scrapes and cuts, the skin peeling from your fingertips and coiling around your fingers, stretching as if it were some type of dough. Blood was caking in between your fingers and coating the blisters that seemed to be popped open. It made you feel sick to your stomach, a gut-wrenching feeling taking control of your mind.
Suddenly, as you were analysing your wounded hand, you heard footsteps, as well as Senpai relentlessly calling your name. One thing you were thankful for, was the fact that he didn't know the layout of your house. But he'd find you eventually if you didn't find a way to get passed him, so you had to think quick despite the searing pain in your hand. You gripped your wrist, pressing your thumb directly against your vein and squeezing as a means to stop the pain, to numb it, anything. This proved to be all but in vain, however, as the pain merely got worse.
"(Y/N), why won't you come out?" You heard him whine, footsteps growing closer to where you had hidden yourself. "I'm not a very patient man, you know. And I've waited for you for so long. Please, just let me hold you," The floorboards creaked under his weight, and his dress shoes slowly came into view as your heart plummeted in your chest. No, no, he couldn't have found you that quickly. It's impossible. "I can hear your breathing. But I can't see you..." He sounded sad, words holding a certain edge to them that you knew meant trouble.
Before you could do anything, he gasped, and you heard the rustling of clothing. "You're playing hide and seek, of course! Pfft. Playing hard to get..." His footsteps began to fade as did your view of him. "You're lucky I love you so much, or else I would have...." His words trailed off as he disappeared, the sound of his voice becoming nothing more than a mere whisper that echoed in the back of your brain as a constant reminder of what you had done. Luckily for you, the anxiety that had coiled in your gut began to settle, leaving you feeling safer than you expected to.
After a few seconds, you began to crawl out from your hiding spot as Senpai's words bounced around in your house. Your chest felt as if it were to be doing jumping jacks, twisting and pressing against your ribcage like a hammer, but you pressed on. A chill was running up and down your spine despite your promises to yourself that you'd escape. You were close to the front door, all you needed to do was scurry to it and find a way to get him off your trail.
And you did - you ran straight toward the door, nearly toppling over and falling on your side in haste, but you nearly made it to the door. That's when you heard his voice, from right behind you. Senpai stood there with a smile on his face when you craned your head to face him. The smile was... void. He seemed angrier and forced than happy, the corners of his lips twitching down to form an obvious sneer, eyebrows furrowing together. His pupils contracted at the sight of you, and before you could run, he launched himself at you.
You both tumbled onto the ground, Senpai being on top of you. The back of your head hit the wall, rattling your brain and leaving you breathless. He straddled your hips, his left hand cupping your wrists and holding them down as your vision steadies. You could make out the outline of his body, the angry expression on his face, but you must have hit your head pretty hard for everything to become such a blurred mess, though it was clearing up.
"(Y/N)," he tried, "you're testing my patience." He seemed genuinely angry, but then, he always did when things didn't go his way. "I'm so happy to be close to you, but you're pushing me away. I just want to spend time with you." His voice settled down to a mere whisper as you struggled against him, his eyebrows upturning to form a more lovestruck expression. Much like before you punched him.
He began to undo his tie, his sneer being replaced with a sly smile. "I love you, (Y/N)," he cooed, "I wish you would have accepted me."
