Dudes I am super sorry for the late update! :)

So here's an extra long one, and a Silvanna mood board :)

Silvanna got to Saturday and she panicked. Marlene and Mary were still fast asleep, Lily had long since gone to breakfast. She'd done her eyeliner, which was shaky but getting better. What was she supposed to wear? The weather was miserable - maybe her brown trousers. What was she supposed to do?

"Guys," she whispered into the dim light. "Guys?"

"You alright?" murmured Mary.

"No," said Silvanna, her stomach churning. "I-I've got a date."

There was a thud from Mary's bed, followed by a yelp, and a shrill cry of, "What?"

"Fuck off, Mary," muttered Marlene into her pillow.

"Silvanna's got a date!" shrieked Mary, pulling her dressing gown round her. She wasn't really helping. And now Marlene was up, throwing back the curtains and letting the light stream through. Silvanna blinked stupidly. "Who's it with?" Mary demanded.

"Uh - Daniel MacQuoid," Silvanna said, feeling way out of her depth. "He's in Runes..." She trailed off, uneasy. "Have either of you done this before?"

"No," scoffed Marlene. "But Mary went to the last Hogsmeade weekend of last year with a Hufflepuff."

Mary shuddered. "Didn't go well. Tried to stick his tongue down my throat."

"Do you think that'll happen?" asked Silvanna quickly. "Should I stop it? Should I just not go?"

"Shut up, Mary," scolded Marlene, inspecting Silvanna's makeup. "It might happen. If you want it to, go for it. If you don't, just say no. You'll be fine."

"How should I act?" Silvanna asked quickly. "Shit, I've never even read a magazine on it like you guys have."

"Well, they all just say to be yourself," said Mary, frowning.

"Which is a good idea," said Marlene firmly, now arranging her hair carefully at the back. "Because he asked you out. So he must already like you a bit."

That made sense to Silvanna. She nodded, biting the inside of her cheek. "OK," she said. "Do I look okay?"

"Brilliant," said Marlene.

"You'll do great," promised Mary.

The walk with Daniel from Hogwarts to Hogsmeade was nothing short of awkward. Silvanna had no idea what to say; she supposed that was something she should've asked Mary and Marlene. Thankfully, as they reached the village, Daniel broke the silence. "Where d'you want to go, then?" he asked, smiling brightly at her. It looked forced.

"Tomes and Scrolls," she said firmly. Then added, "If that's alright with you?"

Daniel looked like Christmas had come early. "Yeah, OK then," he said with a small shrug. Silvanna grinned and the two of them hurried inside, inhaling the crisp smell of parchment.

Silvanna didn't even know where to begin. "Any recommendations?"

"Well you're the best in the year at Astronomy," said Daniel, leading her over to a shelf with stars and glittering writing against dark covers. "I really like this one," - he plucked a plum one with gold foil writing from the shelf. "It links the constellations with the transfigurative properties of different alchemeic processes. I really enjoyed it."

Silvanna took it in her hands. It was quite thin, but still very heavy. It looked expensive. She didn't really have new things, apart from her wand. She really wanted it. She flicked to the first page, and saw a diagram of Cassiopeia with a neatly printed paragraph next to it. It was beautiful. And the page was so smooth as she ran her finger down it. Was it at all possible to fall in love with a book?
