a little girl had options and goals
a future to look forward to
she was supposed to conquer the world
be a lawyer or president
because she could do anything

slowly the butterflies disappeared
the things she loved
became meaningless
and couldnt keep her alive
the celebrity she wanted to meet
wasn't the one here, but above

as her innocence was taken
and her world burned before her
the windows closed
the doors slammed shut
and she was stuck
inhaling smoke with no way out

as she was raped by the world
she was only left with crumbs
crumbs that mocked her
mocked what she could've had
and would never achieve

now her only way out was death
but even that was unobtainable
death was now just an elusive figure
that she could no longer rely on

and so i have to live knowing the little girl
would hate me, and herself
oh how i wish that the little girl
would never have to grow up young
