"Tadashi, hurry up! You won't be there on time!" Yamaguchi's mom called her son softly. Her voice echoed in an empty hallway, travelling into the second floor.
"I know!" freckled boy shouted back, chaotically looking for the most important thing to take, "Where did I put this damn diary?!" His eyes traveled all around the room, trying to spot it. Suddenly Yamaguchi's sight stopped and he jumped on his feet. Boy ran to the shelf with his manga collection. He pulled out a a small dark green notebook with a pen attached to it. "Here you are!" he exclaimed triumphantly and shoved the notebook in his training bag.
"Tadashi!" Yamaguchi flinched as dad called him.
"Coming!" boy replied and ran down the stairs with the bag in his hands.
Yamaguchi's parents were standing near the kitchen door, smiling at excited son. "Have a great time there, it's your first training camp after all!" mom gave him a warm smile.
"Thank you, I definitely will!" boy nodded, tying his shoelaces.
"And do your best there! No slacking!" dad ruffled Yamaguchi's hair and chuckled.
Boy nodded yet again, giving parents his brightest smile and opened an entry door. "I'll be off then! See you in a couple of days!" he waved as the door closed slowly behind him.
"Sorry, Tsukki!" Yamaguchi apologized, quickly tugging his shirt into black pants. He ran fingers through his messy hair, "I didn't want to keep you wai-" he looked up. Yamaguchi frowned as he saw an empty street. And what did I even expect? Boy shook his head, chasing unpleasant thoughts away. A heavy sigh left his lips as he checked his phone:
3 new messages
Love: Yams
Love: I'm freezing here
Love: Be waiting at school"I'm late and he's most likely angry," Yamaguchi rubbed the back of his head, imagining Tsukishima's irritated expression. Guess I'll need to run, don't want to make anyone wait even more. He let out a guilty whimper and hurried to school.
Boy's phone vibrated in his pocket once more, before he walked through the school entrance. Yamaguchi clicked his tongue, but didn't get to check the notification. He froze in place, being met by Sugawara's confused look, "Yamaguchi! How come you're late?"
"I...Sugawara senpai..." his head dropped at his chest to avoid eye contact with the older boy, "It's my first training camp and...um..."
"Everything's fine," setter chuckled, "Don't get so worked up and go take your seat. We're still waiting for Tanaka." He patted freckled boy on a shoulder and smiled.
Yamaguchi nodded and made his way to the bus. It was filled with chatter and quiet laughing, light and cheerful mood that boy liked so much. He walked through the seats, greeting teammates. Boy's eyes were looking for a certain blonde, while he gave others a bright smile. And there he was. Tsukishima was quietly sitting by the window, looking outside with an absent expression on his face. He never needed this 'useless chitchat', so he put on his headphones and blankly stared into nowhere. Blonde noticed his boyfriend the moment Yamaguchi jumped into the bus, but chose to remain silent. "Finally! This dumbass..." he mumbled to himself and sighed.
Yamaguchi hopped onto the seat next to Tsukishima and thought of a way to attract blonde's attention. He hasn't looked that angry, so it should be fine, right? Boy's body shivered, he made as guilty look on his face as he could and eventually found the courage to speak, "Sorry, Tsukki...I didn't mean to make you wait..." Blonde only shrugged in reply, not looking at his boyfriend. Yamaguchi took that as his usual 'never mind' and let out a tired sigh. What did I even expect? He studied Tsukishima's expression for a few moments. It was always hard to understand what he's thinking, and this time wasn't an exception.
Sudden loud screaming snapped Yamaguchi out of his thoughts and made him look in sound's direction. "Hello everyone!" Tanaka stood grinning near first seats. "Kiyoko! My goddess!" he grinned widely, proceeding to hug her. Yamaguchi chuckled as Kiyoko moved away, making boy hug the air. The same as always... "Tanaka!" Nishinoya's voice thundered as he signed Tanaka to come sit next to him. I guess it'll get only louder from now on. Yamaguchi rolled his eyes with a soft smile on his lips.
