Down the rabbit hole

Phoenix woke up to something cold nudging her nose, she blinked open her eyes only to be face to face with her new partner in crime.

She smiled at her bestfriend,
"Goodmorning Sprinkles!"

Sprinkles nudged her nose in greeting letting out a small squeak.

Phoenix sighed happily,
"We should stay here forever!"

Sprinkles nudged her in the side playfully, making Phoenix chuckle and sit up.

She scooped up her little fluff ball as she went.

She hesitated as she got to the long hallway, knowing that her fathers were going to force her to tell them where the rabbit hole was.

She nibbled on her bottom lip, wondering if her fathers would blame  her for showing her mother where the rabbit hole in the first place.
Afterall, it was her fault that her mother found out that the rabbit hole even existed.

She made her way towards her fathers' voices pausing to take out a tape recorder knowing it will come in handy later. When she thought she had enough material
She slowly shuffled into the living room, the quiet voices of her fathers fading out as she came into the room.

She froze, shuffling on her feet awkwardly in the door way.

She couldn't help but envy Cheshire's ability to disappear as she stood there in front of the people who yesterday showed her warmth and lightly joked with her to make her laugh, but now stared at her with trepidation.

Her partner in crime sensed her hesitation and lightly nuzzled into her neck, letting her know she wasn't alone.

Phoenix thoughts were spiraling,
'What if they blame me? No no. That is a stupid question they definitely will. And if they don't, then they will try to stop my plans and I can not allow that. I worked too hard to get this far and I refuse to stop now.'

With that last thought, she stilled her shoulders and looked up, looking her fathers straight in the eyes.

Kota spoke up,
"Goodmornig, Sweetie"

She didn't answer,

Kota drowned and started to move closer, but she held up a hand making her father pause.

"I don't know how to tell you all this. I wasn't even supposed to tell you or let you figure out that I'm your daughter."

North tensed and grumbled dangerously low,
"Not supposed to? What is that supposed to mean?"

She gulped and looked down,she jumped as Victor gently tilted her head up, fire meeting ice.

" I think we need to sit and have this chat Note."

Phoenix relaxed slightly, waiting till her fathers all sat down, she curled herself up with her new friend in a chair closest to the door.

She closed her eyes and took some deep breaths.

Luke opened his mouth to speak, but one look from Owen and Sean silenced them.
Gabriel did not take the hint and promptly blurted out,

"Whatever this shit is, we will face it together."

Phoenix almost let a bitter smile slip.
Nathan  slapped him in the back of the head.

Phoenix straightened in her chair, gently setting her new friend in her lap. She took one last deep breath and opened her eyes and spoke.
Her fathers eyes widened at her serious face.

"I'm only saying this once, if you have any questions... wait till the end and I might answer. I'm only going through this once so keep up and keep quiet. Think you can do it?"

Phoenix winced in her head,
'I sound like a b*tch 'she thought.

The men looked around at each other and Owen nodded to the newest addition.

She took a deep breath before just going for it,

"First things first, do you all have any cameras in here?"

Victor answered her,
"No we do not"

'Good. That will make this easy then.'
Phoenix thought.

"My name is Phoenix Melody Black, and I am 11 years old. My mom liked to move around a lot. I remember going place to place most of my life. My mom was amazing, but she was a single mom and  a ghostbird to top it off so she never had time for me."

She almost smirked,
' technically none of those are lies, she never said that she and her mother were together. Well, except for her name that is.'

She looked up biting her lip as she realized her fathers were staring at her with worried looks on their faces.
She sighed and said a silent apology to her fathers in her head as she started her true plan.

One last thought echoing throughout her mind.

'This ends tonight'

I'm so sorry guys. College and work was kicking my a*s so I had to take a break but good news is you get a double update and some sprinkles fluff this chapter.

Also I forgot what I made her age. I think I'm going to keep it at 11 though. Sorry to change her age so much bit i just feel like 13 is a little too old to act and do some of the things she does. So I'm officially making her 11.
