Easier

They say that what doesn't kill you

makes you stronger,

but first you have to survive.

That's the hardest part.

Easier said than done, in a world like this.

I thought you didn't survive.

I thought you'd succumbed too.

I thought you were gone, forever.

And then I heard the news,

the wonderful, awful, cruel news.

How could you do that to us?

I dreamed about your broken neck

for months, Isa.

I saw people follow you into

the great unknown,

just to see you again,

only to find you weren't there.

They wanted to come back.

You were a traitor to us all.

You ruined so many lives.

I can still see you in my mind,

dangling by your neck,

life on Earth so bad

you decided to risk it all.

But that was all fake.

It was easier when I thought you were dead.
