Expiration Date

Here's your label, stick it on

without this info, you'll be gone.

What you look like, how you act

the reasons you'll have to watch your back.

The ways you'll change, to whom you'll lie

and even when you're going to die.

It's called your expiration date

and there's no changing your etched slate.

People will judge you as if you're on display

and you will never be able to truly get away.

You might hate yourself until your last breath

because you couldn't welcome death.

Because the end was set in stone,

and hoping was fruitless and cut to the bone.

Sticks and stones may bruise my thoughts

but words tear my heart like gunshots.

It will always be this way --

no point in trying to change.
