(Chapter 16)

I've been in the recovery program for about three months now. Over the course of the three months I've gotten a job offer from Wendy seager to assist her over at OFI for a few arson cases and possibly take on a permanent position over there.
Today is my release day, I finally get to go home and figure out if arson investigation is something I want to commit too.
"I'm outside" Kelly says through the phone that i haven't had in a long time.
"Coming" I respond.
I get outside to see Kelly outside of his car
I walk up to him and he embraces me in a big hug
"I missed you, how bad was it?" He asks
"First couple weeks were ass" I say rolling my eyes
"I need to shower." I say smelling myself
"Well we can head back to my place, but matty is there" he says
"Why's he there?" I ask
"Gabby left." He says
"Wait where too?" I ask throwing my bag into his trunk.
"Puerto Rico, some relief resource thing." He says getting in
"Damn. I bet that's a lot on Antonio." I say
"Has he been by to visit you since you were administered." He asks looking at me
"No, I didn't think he would either. He doesn't like these types of places" I shrug
"When are you gonna stop making excuses for him." He asks pulling out
"When I find out he's doing otherwise." I say
"He's always doing otherwise" he responds
"I didn't think it was your choice." I say looking at him
"Don't expect me to be there when he hurts you again. After I repeatedly told you he was doing you wrong" he snaps
"Yeah, like the way I was there was when Renee told you she was pregnant with you child after I told you it didn't make sense." I snap back
"That's different." He says
"How? Tell me severide" I say
"He's cheating on you and you don't even know it. Don't you think someone who 'loves you' would stay away?" He says
"I'm done talking about this." I say pulling my sweater closer to my body
"You never wanna hear the truth. God forbid." He says rolling his eyes
"I know you care Kelly. But I learn from my mistakes." I say looking at him
He looks at me out of the corner of his eyes.
"No you don't, stop lying to me. You've always went back to people who hurt you." He says
"It's not your choice" I say as he pulls up to him apartment
I jump out of the car grab my bag and storm into his apartment
"Well I have the keys" he shouts after me
"I'll break down the door! Plus Matt's here" I say going up the stairs
"Matt open up." I say knocking
"Good morning to you too." He says as he opens the door and looks at severide who's behind me
"I could've unlocked it." He retorts
"Shut up." I say as I pass a girl
I turn around and she looks at me.
"Ooou who are you?" I ask the girl
"This is Stella, my girlfriend" Kelly says
"Hey, I'm Stella." She says smiling
"Hey I'm Jocelyn, you can call me joce. Your too pretty for severide." I say looking at him.
"You want something to eat?" Matt asks
"Of course. Thank you." I say to him
"I'm going to go shower. That okay?" I ask Kelly
"Yeah you know where it is." He says throwing me a towel out of the closet
"Thanks" I say grabbing a shower and getting changed
"Did Benny contact you?" Kelly asks as I sit down at the table and start eating
"Oh yeah. Him and seager offered a temporary position at OFI. But then said if it's deemed necessary they will offer a permanent position" I say smiling
"Ah nice. Your good with that stuff. My dad is a handful though. You know that" he says as Stella rolls her eyes
"You agree?" I ask her
"More then anything. But his intentions are good I've seen" she says
"Yeah I mean of course. He's put Kelly through a lot and he's trying to make up for it now." I say
"But I might be a little late." I continue
"Right." Stella says as Kelly looks at the two of us
"What?" We both say
"Nothing." He says chuckling
"I'm want to go see Antonio" I say throwing the rest of my food away.
Kelly and casey exchanged strange looks
"I'm not doing this right now" I say washing my plate.
"Thank you for breakfast Matt." I say smiling at walking out with my keys to find my car still here
I get in the car and get to his apartment
I knock on the door.
"Oh Jocelyn. How are you?" He says
I look at him.
"Alright. What about you?." I ask
"I'm alright" he says I notice hickeys
I calmly remove my promise ring from my finger as I see a woman come up behind him
"Laura?!" I ask looking at Antonio.
"It's not what it looks like, really." He says
"Oh yeah. I'm sure." I say grabbing his hand and placing the ring into the palm of his hand
"You wanna entertain clowns. Join the circus." I say walking away
"We are done Antonio. For good this time. Don't come back or I'll get police involved." I say getting in my car driving to my apartment
I unlock the door and walk in.
"Okay time to get settled in" I say throwing my bag on my bedroom floor.
I throw my dirty clothes into the washer. And start wiping down my surfaces and staying the place with some air freshener. Once I'm satisfied with the way my apartment looks I turn the tv on and sit down with a glass of wine.
After a couple of glasses of wine I see a flicker at the corner of my eye.
From the plug near the tv
I hop up to see that it's the plug sparking.
I unplug the wires from it and it stops sparking but as I try to move the lamp it walls into the window putting a big crack down the middle
"Shit!" I say grabbing the lamp
"Well it's gonna be cold in here now." I say looking at the window.
I pull out my phone and scroll through my contacts to find Matt's number.
