We didn't battle today.

I don't know why, but Jase wasn't in the garage sipping a grape soda and drumming.

I feel like she didn't enjoy our date.

Jase is very beautiful. I think I'm falling. For now it's just a crush, but the feelings there.

I went over to her house. Darry said Jase was getting groceries. He noticed my sad expression and asked what was wrong.

Darry listened when I told him how I felt and how I feel like Jase may not feel the same way. Darry laughed and said, "she couldn't stop talking about the date, Ashton." My eyes lit up when he said that.

I told him I had to go and help mom with the garden. We stood up and he shook my hand, and I told him, "if this isn't a sensitive topic, you adopted a great girl, Darry."

Darry simply smiled, looking over at a photo on the mantle by the tv. It was a photo of little Jase, with shorter hair and a small little suitcase.

"I knew it from the moment I saw her." Darry said, causing me to smile. I told him I'd see them later, and he thanked me on behalf of Jase for the pack of grape soda.

I felt much better now.
