Ashton

I drove until my mom called.

When I got home, I saw Darry wasn't home.

But there was someone on the roof.

I climbed up and there was Jase.

She was facing away from me, and I don't know if she was aware of my presence. She would've turned around. I could tell she was drinking a grape soda.

"Are we not enough?" I asked instantly.

Jase turned around, her eyes scanning mine. Her lips were parted.

I continued, "you'd rather go out and look for the people who abandoned you? Rather than someone who raised you and gave you a father?"

Jase didn't say anything. I couldn't stop. I felt angry. "Take a look around, Jase. You're Jase Parker. You have a really cool dad and you have so many talents and you have a cheeky twenty year old who has a huge crush on you."

I breathed, her eyes still looking into mine. "Is that not enough?" I asked again.

Jase wasn't saying anything. "Darry looked like he lost the best thing that has ever happened to him, Jase." I spoke again.

"Shut up, okay?! Just shut up!" Jase snapped. I was taken aback by her outburst.

I could see from the moonlight sky that Jase was fighting back her tears.
