My shift was supposed to end at 7:00
But I asked Tommy if I could take up some hours so here I was 8:00 just getting back from a call.

I went to the kitchen where Paul ,Mateo,and Marjan are hanging out

"Hey I thought your shift was over." Said Marjan

" I picked up some extra hours ."

"Awww Tk took up extra hours so he could get to hang with us ." Said Paul

"Yeah because that's totally the reason ."

We laughed then my dad came from behind and asked me to come up to his office

I followed him up he handed my Carlos phone That still had the sticky note on it

"Why don't you give this to Carlos yourself don't you guys have a date tonight ?"

"I just thought it makes more sense for you to give it to him and that plan kinda fell through .."

" well he keeps texting you ?"

"I'll get back to him later just make sure he gets his phone back ."

"Tk ? Is everything okay ?"

"Can't and don't wanna talk dad ."

Carlos's point of view

TK's been ghosting me all day his shift ended at 7 but he didn't show . It's now 8:30 I figured maybe his shifts running long . I show up at the station to see that the ems is out on a call . When Owen calls my name

"Carlos up here ."

I come up to his office and sit down when he hands me my phone

"Tk said to give this to you . He said it made more sense for me to give it to you I'm not sure why tho ."

" okay uh thanks so is ems still out on a call ?"

"Yeah the night shifts out .. Tk took some extra hours he wouldn't tell me why he said your plans fell through ."

As I unlock my phone I see that it's on Owen text messages

"Owen .." I show him my phone

"This explains why he's been ghosting me all day ." I say knowing that I screwed up

I hear the truck pull in I head downstairs to see Tk getting out of the truck

"T.K.."

"See you got your phone back ."

"Can we talk .."

"I'm done my shift so let me get changed ."

He went upstairs and came down a few minutes later

We went through a long silent car ride when we arrived at my place Tk went inside and sat on the couch

"Tk look I meant to tell you .."

"Really cause it dosent seem like you meant to ."

"I-." I could see TK's eyes getting glossy I couldn't even make out a straight word "

"It made me feel like you don't trust me and you couldn't even tell me that my dad asked about me ."

"Tk the only reason I didn't tell you is because I didn't want you to think that I didn't trust you I trust you and so does your dad we just want to make sure that your doing okay because I love you."

At this point Tk had a tear coming down his face

"I'm sorry Tk ." I sat down next to him as he rest his head on my shoulder

"Im sorry I ghosted you I've just been overwhelmed a lot ."

"What's wrong ?" Questioning looking seeing that his face is wet and his eyes are still glossy

"It's dumb .."

"Tk nothing you say is dumb .." I say to him

" I'm just- I'm just jealous I guess I'm gonna have a younger brother or sister and there gonna have my mom and dad together which I never had see it's stupid .."

"Tk that's not stupid they spit when you were seven that couldn't have been easy .."

" I love you Carlos .."

"I love you to Tk ."
