A/N: This was requested by @JeggyShipper! I hope you like it, Evie! Sorry, it took this long...

Angelica POV:

The sky faded into a blue canvas atop which was fingerpainted rows of perfect white clouds in puffy paint. My back was to the ground as I lay on the grass. I sit up and turn, facing my friend Thomas. "Thanks for hanging out with me. Look at this lovely view."

"Not as lovely as you are," he says, a slight grin on his face. He blinks, then breaks eye contact like a shy boy from elementary school.

Is he...

No, Angie. Be serious!

Changing the subject, I redirect the focus to the weather. I know, cliche. "It's humid out today, isn't it?" I laugh nervously.

"Oh, really? I haven't noticed." The way he said it, you wouldn't have noticed he was being sarcastic. I playfully smack him on the arm.

Just admit, you like him, too.

All right.

I bat my eyelashes at him, nervously fidgeting with my shoelaces and twisting a stray curl around my finger. He giggles, tossing his head back in little peals of laughter, then slips his hand into mine.

"You look really cute when you smile like that," he remarks.

"We should do this more often," I hint.

"We should." He pauses, breathes deeply, then speaks again, very, very softly, almost like a whisper. "I think I might like you. Beyond the way friends do. And I get it if you don't feel the same."

I hesitate, blink, then try to force words from where they've lodged in my throat. "Me, too."
