Chapter 9: The World Bends Around You

"Franklin, Feitan, Phinks, and Shalnark, stay with Hisoka. The rest come to Hotel Beitacle with me." Chrollo ordered. They all did as they were ordered.

"Last night was supposed to be my last day." (Y/N) pouted as she walked through the streets of Yorknew City.

"You're an unofficial floating member of Phantom Troupe. A last day does not exist unless Phantom Troupe ceases to exist." Chrollo retaliated.

"I never agreed to this."

"You didn't have an option in the first place."

The two bickered back and forth. The Phantom Troupe members deadpanned as they listened. "Wait. There's two people following us." (Y/N) whispered.

"Kortopi, Pakunoda, Nobunaga, and (Y/N) find the scarlet eyes and meet back at the hotel." They nodded in reply.

The group stopped in the middle of the road. Car lights came into view and stopped in front of them. (Y/N) saw the man slightly shaking in the car.

"He's not the chain user." Pakunoda said.

"Get out." Nobunaga said. "Move an inch and I'll kill you."

Pakunoda locked his arms behind his back. "Answer my questions honestly."

"One of the bodyguards uses chains. Where is he?"

"Who are you talking about?"

Pakunoda added pressure to his arms. "Answer the question."

"Answer the question already. Don't move."

"Where are the other bodyguards?" Pakunoda asked.

"They went back to the island. That was where I was going." The man said.

"Don't lie." Pakunoda said, bending his arm. "Where is the chain user?"

"I don't know who you're talking about."

"Last question, is there anyone who you care deeply for?"

The man scorned. "No."

"So her name's Eliza?"

The man moved to attack Pakunoda. "If you-"

"I said not to move." Nobunaga said.

(Y/N) grimaced at the sight. It was like she was reliving her memories. "(Y/N), you don't look so good." Kortopi said.

"Oh I'm fine." She nervously laughed, but her face turned into a frown the second after.

Pakunoda gave her a confused expression before pulling out her phone to update Chrollo.

"Okay let's head to Hotel Beitacle." Pakunoda said. After some walking, the group entered through the automatic doors.

"There's Pakunoda's group." Shizuku said.

"Yo," (Y/N) said with a wave. Nobunaga's and (Y/N)'s eyes widened. "Oi Gon and Killua!" She ran over to them. She looked at Machi who was holding onto them. "Ehh, why do you need them?" She said pointing at the two kids.

"They were the two following us." Machi said.

"Didn't I tell you two to never get in trouble after the Hunter Exam?" (Y/N) scolded.

"There were big bounties on their heads." Killua said with his cat face. "You have a big bounty too."

(Y/N) nervously laughed. "All because of him over there." She pointed directly at Chrollo.

"Your bounty got repealed almost the day after it was released." Gon added. "But the others, they just got repealed."

(Y/N) thought for a moment. "Ahh, they really want me to join back. Curse that Grandpa. Says we could do whatever after the exam and here I am being asked to go back to being a blacklist hunter." (Y/N) fumed.

Nobunaga then walked over and saw Chrollo. "Danchou, these guys would be perfect additions to Phantom Troupe, don't you think?"

He dismissed Nobunaga's question. "Pakunoda I want you to check them. Check what they're hiding."

As Pakunoda reached for Killua, he scowled. "You won't find anything from us."

"My question will find anything in your memories. You can't lie to me. What are you hiding?" Just as Pakunoda achieved their plan, the lights turned off.

(Y/N) immediately summoned her daggers from her portal and flung it towards every direction. She heard a grunt as she hit someone on her left. Kurapika.

She immediately used her nen ability. Pakunoda was just starting to ask her question. (Y/N) looked directly to her left and saw Chrollo who looked back. She dashed in front of him. His eyes widened as the lights turned off and (Y/N) knocked him down. (Y/N) stifled a cry as she felt something pierce her leg for at least 3 seconds. Her aura slowly drained. A rush of footsteps escaped the building. The only source of lights was the city lights.

"I better get compensation for this." (Y/N) groaned as she was on top of Chrollo. "He changed his ability at the last second... and it hurts like hell." She struggled to lift herself up from her position. Her voice started to get drowsy. "Don't take this the wrong way. My aura just..." She looked over to Gon and Killua. "Release them, yea?" She said before her eyes closed.

"(Y/N)!" Gon and Killua yelled. They squirmed in the grips of Nobunaga and Machi.

Chrollo put his hands on (Y/N)'s shoulders and moved her so that her head was on his lap as he sat up.

"Did she just-" Shizuku started.

"She knew it was coming." Chrollo said.
