Chapter 12: As The World Falls Down

"Give up. Your Phantom Troupe is currently held hostage." A blond man said.

"Pariston." (Y/N) glared at the blond man. "Stop trying to bring me back to the Hunter Association."

Chrollo's phone then rang. "Come to your hideout. Don't play any tricks or else one dies." Chrollo's eyes widened. "Don't try to attack anyone either."

"Well you heard him." Pariston said.

A few of the Zodiacs excluding Pariston followed behind Chrollo and (Y/N) as they made their way back. Inside Phantom Troupe's hideout, the Phantom Troupe members' hands were held behind their backs. A chain wrapped around Chrollo.

"Leave Phantom Troupe, (Y/N)." Kurapika said.

(Y/N) scoffed. "I wasn't a Spider in the first place."

"So are you coming back to the Hunter Association?"

"As if. I'd rather not feel restricted."

"It's not hard to come back, (Y/N). Just know they're the same people that made you become a Hunter in the first place."

"Kurapika. Remember what I said at Gordeau Desert. Call me a traveler or whatever, take my Hunter License. I have a job here and that's to protect the Phantom Troupe members."

"(Y/N), do you even know what you're saying? Don't tell me you think of yourself as a friend to Phantom Troupe. They're just using you to protect themselves."

(Y/N) tensed. "What do you know about them?" She hissed.

"I don't want to fight you. Neither do any of the Zodiacs."

She cut him off. "Then don't. Just release them."

"You don't understand. They're wanted. They're scums of the Earth."

"What difference does that make me? I'm wanted too for helping them and killing those people in the Gordeau Desert."

"You're-..." Kurapika couldn't think of anything.

"Yea, that's what I thought." (Y/N) sighed. "I'm willing to fight if it means getting Phantom Troupe back."

"Pakunoda!" Machi screamed. (Y/N) looked over to Pakunoda who got out of one of the Zodiacs' grasp. She pointed a gun at (Y/N). "(Y/N), I trust you... as a friend of Phantom Troupe." The bullet was shot towards her and Chrollo. Just then Pakunoda spat out blood. She fell forward as she died. She violated Kurapika's orders.

Pakunoda's memories played in (Y/N)'s mind.

"Where's Hisoka?" Shizuku asked. "Isn't he not supposed to leave?"

"He left with Kortopi and Shalnark." Feitan said.

They then felt a presence inside their hideout.

"There's people." Feitan said. Chains wrapped around the Phantom Troupe members before they felt something wrapping around their hearts.

"First, none of you are allowed to use your nen abilities. Second, none of you are able to tell (Y/N) or Chrollo what happened here." Kurapika said as he glared at them.

Tears threatened the eyes of Phantom Troupe and (Y/N). Another spider has fallen.

"Kurapika, forget about me joining the Zodiacs back again. I'll stay with these so-called scums of the Earth and die here if I have to."

"If that is your choice (Y/N), you are equivalent to a Spider in my eyes."

"And that's fine with me." (Y/N)'s portal appeared. 10 daggers appeared. All of them circulated around Kurapika, leaving (Y/N) without anything to defend herself. "Kurapika dies if the Phantom Troupe members don't get released. Kurapika's chain judgement as well. Pick an option." A Zodiac grit his teeth. "Keep thinking, the longer you take, the closer the daggers will get to Kurapika."

The Zodiacs released the Phantom Troupe members. One by one, the Phantom Troupe went to (Y/N)'s side and a few daggers came back to her. The last one left was Chrollo who was in Kurapika's chains with his mouth covered by the metal. "Chrollo too." She said glaring at Kurapika. He released Chrollo and jumped back to the Zodiacs. Just then Kurapika conjured his chain to a syringe. It stabbed (Y/N)'s thigh. "Not again." She groaned as she started swaying. Chrollo was about to catch her from falling, but Kurapika took Chrollo in his chains.

"Kill all the members." Kurapika ordered. He turned to Chrollo. "Firstly, after this battle, you are not allowed to see any of the Phantom Troupe members. Secondly, you can't work with (Y/N) anymore."

"I'm not working with (Y/N). She's working for herself and I am the same."

The Phantom Troupe members fought back the Zodiacs with their nen. The syringe has left (Y/N). With her tired state, all she could do was watch as the members struggled to defeat the Zodiacs. It was painful to watch everyone start getting bruised. (Y/N) brought out her portal with the leftover energy she had and summoned one dagger. Carefully, she pointed it towards the direction of Kurapika and Chrollo. It was flung towards Kurapika's chains. She mouthed a 'sorry' to Chrollo. Kurapika's eyes widened as the dagger came closer to his chain. The dagger suddenly released a small electric current, but it was enough to shock the two. Kurapika's chain released Chrollo due to the lack of concentration. As they both recovered from the shock, (Y/N) focused on the chain, prepared to manipulate it. Chrollo quickly conjured his book and flipped to a page before Kurapika could trap him again.

A warm wind blew and the anemones started to blossom over the cement. However, Kurapika used (Y/N)'s ability. (Y/N) felt her nen ability come back to her. He went back. She grit her teeth knowing the same trick wouldn't work twice. She looked over to the Phantom Troupe members who were still struggling. She looked at Bonolenov. I hate to do this. (Y/N) summoned a small needle and threw it towards. He straightened his posture and started walking towards (Y/N). "Protect Lenov!" (Y/N) called. Machi nodded.

"Kill him." Kurapika said in reply as he looked at the figure walking somewhere.

(Y/N) carefully crawled towards Pakunoda. She put her hand on Pakunoda's and found the stream of Pakunoda's leftover aura. "Your devotion will not go to waste. I just need a little." She whispered quietly. She felt an aura flowing through her veins.

She stood up. She summoned her portal and brought out 10 daggers. The needle on Bonolenov disappeared. "About time, (Y/N)." Machi said, wiping the blood on the edge of her lips.

"I'm here now." (Y/N) shrugged and looked at the 5 Zodiacs that Phantom Troupe were fighting. "Let's start the show for Chrollo, shall we?" She looked back at Chrollo who was in Kurapika's grasp and mouthed. 'I hope you can wait.'

Chrollo rolled his eyes.
