They had arranged to meet back at the castle in an empty classroom on the second floor. Draco slipped down to the kitchens to grab some leftover food from the feast while Harry made his way to their meet up spot. He felt he was mad for going along with this, a part of him convinced that he was still being played for a fool and that Draco was planning something all along. Yet, another part of him felt he was really being sincere, maybe the war really had changed Draco

Draco arrived to find Harry cross-legged on the floor, Harrys eyes lit up at the sight of the treats cradled in Draco's arm as he swung the door shut with his foot.

"Right! I've grabbed us some pumpkin pasties, mini treacle tartlets and chocolate fudge cake" he smiled

Harry beamed "treacle tarts are my favourite"

They sat together talking for what felt like hours, reminiscing about moments from past years. Harry retold the story of what really happened to Sirius Black, Draco shared all the times him and Blaise would prank Crabbe and Goyle because they were so gullible. Harry shared the story of how he used the liquid luck to get information from Slughorn and how this lead to the discovery of the horcruxes. So many thoughts we're running through Draco's mind while Harry was talking

'Harry is so easy to talk to, why was I such an idiot before?'

'I never realised he'd been through so much every year at school'

'I can't believe he made me feel that way in the showers, I really hope he didn't see anything. Why I am feeling this way all of a sudden? I only wanted to be friends..."

'Merlin, his eyes are so gorgeous, and his smile... wait, stop it Draco. You don't have a crush on Potter!"

An hour into their little private feast, while Harry stuffed his cheeks full of chocolate sponge, Draco looked up from his food and spoke

"Harry...listen...I know it's long overdue...but I just wanted to properly apologise for, well...everything. You never deserved any of the shit I gave you and I've really changed now. I've distanced myself from my parents and actually started using my brain to think for myself. Deep down, I was always on your side, I know I never showed it, but I was always rooting for you and your fight. I've reflected on how I was conditioned to think and act growing up, and I'm doing my best to be a better person now. I hope you can understand"

Harry smiled at him while chewing through the cake in his cheeks, he stifled a small chuckle and eventually swallowed, looking back up at Draco. He wanted to grab him and shake him and tell him to stop apologising, but he could see how important this was to him. He needed reassurance. He needed closure.

"Thanks, Draco. I appreciate you saying those things, it means a lot to me. We're going to be fine. Thanks for bringing me food tonight too, and I had a lot of fun down on the pitch, maybe we could make it a regular thing?" he smiled

Regular meet ups with Harry? Are we officially friends now?

"Sure, that'd be cool. I need to learn your flying tactics so I can knock you off your smug arse next match anyway" he teased

"Unlikely" Harry smirked taking another bite of cake "So, tell me Draco, what's going on in your life now at Hogwarts? What are your new ventures for 8th year?"

"What?" Draco asked wiping the crumbs off of his mouth furrowing his brow

"Come on! Everyone in the wizarding world knows every little detail about every part of my life! If we're going to be friends then i think its only fair I know a little more about you?"

"Fair enough, well... what do you want to know?"

"Anything really? Favourite memories from past years? Most embarrassing moments? My guess is on Moody turning you into a ferret" he stuck out his tongue jokingly "Gossip about friends, secret crushes, ex girlfriends, anything!"
