Chapter Twenty -Three

Returning to school came like clockwork to Venus. Like always, Rosie stayed in her compartment alone, and Thea was walking to Hogwarts from her house in Hogsmeade. The only difference was that this year, she would be spending her time in the Prefects Compartment.

When the familiar letter addressed from Hogwarts landed on her dresser one morning, she was ecstatic to find out that she had made prefect. The first thing she did after rushing downstairs and alerting her family of her new status, was write a letter to her father.

It pained her that her parents were split, like it would any child, but Venus had always been closer to her father than with her mother. She wished to be able to spend this moment with both of her parents, but she worked with what she was given.

Needless to say, no one in the family was even a bit surprised, except for Graham, but he was always a little slow when it came to the wizarding world. Michael even took this as another opportunity to tease his little sister, but anyone could see how proud he was of her.

Sebastian was excited as well, as this was going to be the start of his first year. He was holding onto Venus's arm tightly as the Legna trio stepped onto the platform on the day of September first.

"You have to stay with me. I'm too scared, Vee." Sebastian whispered to his older sister, not wanting Michael to hear his worries.

Venus bent down on one knee to try and be on his level, but due to her already petite height, she ended being shorter than him by a mile. "Seb, I have to go to the Prefects room. It's part of my duties." When his face fell, she spoke again. "But there are plenty of other new kids starting this year that would love to be your friend. I could even introduce you to Lucas, a kid i tutored last year."

"Is he nice?"

"One of the sweetest kids on the world.  Next to you, of course." Venus teased. nudging the younger Legna onto the train. She directed him to a compartment that was almost empty, except for a small boy who was hiding his face in a book. "I never though to see you voluntarily reading." The Hufflepuff laughed, making Lucas raise his head over the book he was pretending to read.

"Venus!" The second year exclaimed when he saw her. He looked up to her, like most people did. She was the only person at Hogwarts that truly cared about him and never picked on him. "Please, you know me better than that. I'm just trying to hide for as long as possible so that I wont be picked on." He replied sadly, making Venus frown.

She pulled the boy into a sisterly hug, before she remembered why she had come to see him. "I came by to introduce you to my brother. He's starting his first year here, and I know you both need some friends." Sebastian awkwardly stepped out from behind his sister, carrying the Grigglypuff cage.
