I hugged Luis and didn't wanna let him go. He hugged me back tightly and swayed us side to side lightly.

"You should just stay here," I whispered.

He sighed. "I wish I could but I don't wanna get fired."

I hummed lightly. "True..."

He separated himself from me but kept his hands on my shoulders.

"I'll only be gone for three days." He smiled.

I sighed. "That's still a long time."

He chuckled. "It's not."

I pulled him back into the hug and kissed his jawline. Alison and Jayden's footsteps came running towards us.

"Daddy!" Alison squealed.

He separated himself from me and knelt in front of her. "Hi, baby."

She looked at his suitcases. "Where are you going?"

"I have to go on another work trip." He sighed.

Her smile immediately faded. "What? Why?"

"Because I have to for work."

Her lower lip trembled. "H-how long will you be gone for?..."

He held up three fingers. "Three days."

She suddenly burst into tears. "No!"

His eyes filled with sadness as she ran into his arms. She sobbed loudly and he rubbed her back gently.

"I know, honey." He looked like he was about to cry as well. "I'll be home really quick though."

"I don't want you to leave!" She cried out.

He shushed her lightly and Jayden joined in on the hug. Luis kissed his head lightly and squeezed him tightly.

"Please don't go!" Alison begged.

"I have to, beautiful." He quivered. "I'm so sorry."

He stood up, but Alison clung to his neck. He sighed and kissed her cheek.

"I'll see you soon, okay?" He whispered to her.

She shook her head. "No, please don't leave!"

"I'm so sorry." He kissed her once more before handing her over to me.

She cried harder as she squirmed around in my arms. I kept a tight grip on her as Luis picked up his suitcases and walked out the door.

"Daddy!" She sobbed while holding her little hands out to the door.

"You'll see him soon, sweetheart," I reassured.

"But I don't want him to leave!"

"I know, honey." I gently stuffed her face into my chest. "I know..."

Jayden rubbed her leg lightly. "It's okay, Ali. He'll be happy to see you again."

She sniffed. "Mhm..."

"Wanna go watch a movie?" I asked.

She nodded. "Yeah."

"What about you, Jay?" I asked.

"Sure." He nodded back.

I tightened my grip on Alison and started walking up the stairs. I set her on our bed and she snuggled up on Luis's side of the bed while Jayden snuggled on my side. I hopped in the middle of them and ruffled their hair.
