This is where we are

[Two months later]

It's Christmas Eve today, and I'm spending it alone. A lot has happened in the last two months and by a lot, I mean that Rhett completely ghosted me after a couple of dinners we had. When I came back from Aruba, he stopped answering my texts and calls. That week I spent with Esther and my aunt, I was talking non-stop about Rhett and how he's such a great man with a stable job that he loves and how he constantly makes me laugh...the last time we saw each other, I told him I adored everything about him so that might've scared him away.

Every weekend I send him a message, wishing him a good day, hoping he'll reply back but nothing.

"I hope you guys have a great time in Spain," I said, hugging Hasan who is leaving for two weeks to spend time with his cousins.

Hasan cupped my cheeks "You call me if you need anything, got it? Doesn't matter the time."

A soft smile curved my lips "I will, don't worry about me, I'll just be here," my lips pecked both of his cheeks before I turned him around by his arms, and pushed him out of my apartment. "Bye bye!"

"Bye, Aurora," he chuckled.

I closed the door and let my smile disappear. My feet took me down the hall and back to the living room/kitchen.
