of course. she's known to ruin plans. "lynne? what on earth are you doing here?" mike asked as he gave her a disgusted face. jenn walked up to him taking his hand in her's. "i came because i want to take ricky to chicago with me." she said as if it was nothing. tears threatening to spill from everyone's eyes but her's. nini whispered very quietly, "please no". she couldn't loose him. she just got him back. "im not going back to chicago with you, are you crazy?" ricky shook his head. he took nini's hand needing some unspoken support. which unknowingly helped her as well. "you're a child, since when do you get to decide where you live?" she asked with a puzzled face. "since you left me and dad, plus i'm 18." he held onto nini's hand a bit tighter. "my son is not going anywhere lynne." she rolled her eyes. "what is it with you and birthdays, i mean you always do it on a birthday..is it like your mission?" ricky said with a face. nini almost laughed but she knew that would be more than inappropriate. "i thought you two broke up" she said pointing to ricky and nini. "how is that even remotely relevant to this conversation?" ricky asked getting angrier by the second. "well, i don't want your little girlfriend to be all lonely if you leave" she laughed bitterly at her own words. "that is it-" ricky was about to go off. but nini whispered "don't" he looked over to see a tear stained face. his heart broke, again. "im leaving this is ridiculous" he grabbed his coat and drove off. "go after him, i'll handle this" mike said to her. she nodded through her tears. she grabbed ricky's bike and rode to where she knew he'd be. "ricky?" he didn't answer, but he was there. "woah" was all she said as she saw the fairy lights. "it was supposed to be for tomorrow" he said as he hoped out of his trunk. "what was the occasion?" she asked stepping closer. "doesn't matter". "ricky i have to tell you something" she fiddled with something in her pocket. "so do i" he said stepping closer to her. "same time?" he nodded. "im in love you!" they said shocking each other. "what?" they say again at the same time. "y-you love me? still? even after- everything that i put you through?" he asked tears leaving his eyes. she nodded, crying as well. "yeah, i love you a lot" they stepped closer. "i have something for you" he said. "me too". "i'll go first" she nodded. he took a small black box from his pocket and got down on one knee. she gasped a bit. "im not proposing, not yet. but this is a promise that i will someday. i promise not to mess up again. i promise that i'll never leave your side again. no matter what, or who. i promise that you're the best thing that's ever happened to me, the best thing that will ever happen. so, do you, nini salazar-roberts promise all these things too?" he asked his eyes still filled with tears. "of course" she smiled as she cried. he slipped the butterfly ring onto her finger. "it's a butterfly!" she said in a baby voice. "it is" he whispered. he leaned in but she stopped him before he could put his lips on her's. "wait, i have a gift too." she took out another small black box. "im not getting down on one knee because i'm in wedges but, this is as well a promise that you won't leave. do you except?" she said showing the ring. "of course" he said, she slipped it onto his finger. "hey, it's spider-man" he laughed a bit. "for my forever superhero" she said admiring him. they got caught up in the moment and next thing you know his lips are on hers. after a while they sat in his trunk admiring the stars. he looked down at her smiling, "i'll love you forever, neens" he said his voice breaking a bit as he rubbed his thumb over her cheek bone. "yayy" she said with glossy eyes making him smile. and for a little bit they forgot about the rest of the world. unplanned beauty. ________________________________
