THE MOON LOOKS BEAUTIFUL TONIGHT

It had been quite some time, since Wei Ying left Lan Wangji and the Heavenly Empress in the garden, although he was in his study sitting with piles of documents neatly stacked on his table but Wei Ying hadn't been able to focus on them. Knowing that his mother would not reveal the conversation between her and Lan Wangji, he ordered Li Yu to arrange a dinner for the guests from the mortal world to his quarters and inform them about the rules of the Celestial Kingdom and Yanxi Palace. He decided that after the dinner, he would talk to Lan Wangji and find out what his mother told Lan Wangji. 

Noticing the huge pile of documents filled with various issues from immortals across the three realms, he decided to put everything at rest and read the documents and provide possible measures or solutions to the problems. 

After about 5-6 hours, Li Yu informed Wei Ying that the guests have arrived for the dinner and were waiting for him. Wei Ying then closed the document he was reading, got up and informed Li Yu to deliver the documents that he has read to the immortals concerned with them. He then joined the guests in the hall, there was complete silence in the hall. 

The mortals didn't utter a word for they didn't know what to say for this Wei Ying was completely different from the Wei Ying they knew and loved. Their Wei Ying always smiled and talked and teased no matter what he was going through. Their Wei Ying was kind and caring, he emitted warmth that could melt anyone. But the Wei Ying in front of them didn't speak, he preferred to be silent. This Wei Ying was cold and strict. This Wei Ying was unfamiliar.

Soon Wei Ying broke the silence, "tonight, I have invited you all for the dinner for various reasons, first you see there is a medicine bottle placed on your tables, have one dose of this medicine before going to bed every night, it will stop you all from ageing. Since you all are mortals, you will age at your normal rate and incase that happens then you will die within a month to two months maximum because one day in the Heavenly Realm accounts for a year in the mortal realm."

The guests were taking in the newly attained knowledge, so they just nodded their heads.

Wei Ying further continued, " Li Yu has already informed you about the rules of the Heavenly Realm, remember to always follow them. Plus, although you will busy cultivating till evening with me, still I'm informing you don't step out of Yanxi Palace, the moment you do so, you will be sent to the mortal realm whether or not you have cultivated. But you all are permitted to roam freely in the Yanxi Palace apart from my quarters. Well, that's all for now. Enjoy your dinner."

Everyone ate in silence, but the guests didn't fail to notice that the food that Wei Ying ate was not spicy at all, it was bland, plus he drank tea and there was no wine on his table. They wanted to ask the reason behind this but they knew it would be futile to ask anything at that moment. So, they put the matter off, thinking that they would soon find the reason. 

What really happened to Wei Ying in the past 5 years?

Wei Ying then pointed his fingers to Lan Wangji and Jiang Wanyin and spoke, "one important thing, if either of you hear any unusual voices or see anything be it in dreams or when you are awake. Don't brush it off and come to me as soon as possible and inform me everything. Okay?"

Lan Wangji and Jiang Wanyin wanted to know what Wei Ying meant by this but before either of them could question Jin Ling abruptly asked, "what do you mean? What voices? What dreams? and why will only they see or hear them? Why not us?" Jin Ling then pointed his fingers at Lan Schizui and Nie Huaisang.

Lan Schizui saw the irritated look on his Xian Gege so he attempted to stop Jin Ling meanwhile Nie Sect Leader hid his face with his fan and said, "it's probably because their cultivation levels are higher than ours."
