Wei Ying sat beside Mo Cheng who was waiting for the Crown Prince.

They opened two bottles of the 50,000years old peach blossom wine and gulped down some of the wine directly from the bottles and then the Crown Prince questioned the Demon Prince, "so what happened in the Demon Realm that required you to visit me especially in the middle of your cultivation?"

Mo Cheng took chucked down some of the sweet yet bitter toxic drink and waited for the burning sensation to diminish.

After some time, he sighed and responded to the Crown Prince who was patiently waiting for his answer, "father, I mean the Demon King thinks that the Demon lord has somehow manipulated the counsellor of the Demons, Jing Xiu to do his bidding."

The Crown Prince took a sip of the wine and questioned, "Are you sure? I mean we both know that Jing Xiu is a complicated man but at that same time we are also aware of his hatred towards the Demon Lord, Jing Xiu provided key evidence against his own grandfather and father who collaborated with the Demon Lord."

Mo Cheng interrupted, "I know Ying-Ge what you mean but just like in the Mortal Realm, there have been a few incidents in the Demon Realm and somehow they all relate to Jing Xiu in one way or the other, it can't be a coincidence. Apart from me, father hasn't spoken about it to anyone because well there are many reasons like it may be Jing Xiu really got manipulated by the Demon Lord, or it may be that someone working for Demon Lord is trying to frame Jing Xiu, to create a rift in the Demon Realm which would be beneficial for the Demon Lord, or perhaps...."

The Crown Prince listened to his soul brother rant on the disturbing piece of news he just received. When the Demon Prince finally stopped speaking, an eerie silence engulfed both of them.

Wei Ying pensively broke the silence, "keeping each and every possibility aside, the main problem here is that if the Demon Lord has successfully manipulated Jing Xiu, a person who hates him to the core, then who all have been manipulated by the Demon Lord? Whom can we actually trust to defeat the Demon Lord?"

They both kept drinking from jars that contained hundreds and thousands of years old brewed wine silently and pondering on the question last raised. They failed to notice the light of the dawn seeping into the room, bringing with it a new day, new hopes, and aspirations.

Their train of thoughts came to an end when a small firey phoenix came in and sat on Wei Ying's right thumb which rested on the rim of the wine jar.

The Crown Prince listened to the message, which the little phoenix conveyed before disappearing in the air.

Wei Ying lifted the wine jar to drink the liquor, only to find it empty. He sighed and faced Mo Cheng, "looks like I'm going to have a busy day, the phoenix was from the Phoenix Queen, she said that Feng Wu is in a stable condition and that Feng Wu will visit later in the day."
