Soon Wei Ying felt Lan Wangji kiss him on the crook of his neck, this gave shudders and goosebumps all over his body and Wei Ying blushing in the dark, uncharacteristically spoke, "Ahh! Lan Zhan!"

The pain which Wei Ying was feeling in his heart till now, the pain which he pushed back had intensified to such an extent that he could no longer bear it. Wei Ying knew that he had to leave his Lan Zhan and rush back to his room and take a control of the pain in his heart. He, once again tried to wake Lan Zhan up, but failed. He laid Lan Zhan down on his bed and clutched the area over his heart and pressed his lips tightly to stop any sound escaping from his mouth. He wanted to get up and leave but he couldn't figure out as to why was Lan Zhan still asleep, because Wei Ying knew that Lan Zhan had always been a light sleeper. That's when Wei Ying realised the lingering smell of alcohol in the air. So, Wei Ying lit up the room and saw that there was a jar of alcohol on the tea table.

"Lan Zhan, when did you start drinking? Why Lan Zhan? Is it because of me? Lan Zhan, I'm extremely sorry for everything that you have suffered because of me but I can't be by your side. No matter how much I want it, I can never be your partner, your soul mate, your bond mate. I can never love you like I used to. Do you know how happy I felt when I first realised you are my bonded mate? But the very next moment I also knew that I could never be with you. I don't deserve you, you are too good for me. After your work in the mortal realm is over and once you ascend to the Heavenly Realm, I will break our bond and I will help you find someone who will love you more, who will deserve you", Wei Ying mumbled to himself and then clutched his chest, Wei Ying somehow managed to get up from Lan Zhan's bed and rushed to his room.

On reaching his room, Wei Ying closed the door and coughed up the blood which he was holding from the moment he hugged his Lan Zhan. 

He threw everything that came in his way and dragged himself to his bed, upon seating on the bed he again coughed up a mouthful of blood. He knew he had to control his pain or the curse would eat him up from inside. So, he sat in the lotus position, cut himself from the outside world and focused on the pain and tried to overcome it using his spiritual energy. 

Early in the morning, Li Yu was followed by the guests, they went to Wei Ying's quarters, the moment Li Yu opened the door, he saw blood on the floor and that the room was trashed, Li Yu and the others got scared, Li Yu shouted, "crown prince" and rushed near Wei Ying's bed and found him pale and lifelessly sitting in a meditative pose. Lan Zhan had never seen his love like, not even when he was in the Burial Mounds he screamed, "Wei Ying", and A-Yuan who had just felt his Zhan Baba fall backwards then saw his Xian Gege and sobbed, "Xian Gege, what happened to you? I just found you, you cannot leave me again." Jiang Cheng fell on his knees, tears running down his cheeks, Jin Ling who just found out that this masked man was not only his teacher but also his uncle didn't know what to feel, he just stood there in silence taking everything in. 

While Nie Huisang muttered to himself, "Wei Xiong, fate really is harsh on you, why do you have to suffer so much?"

Just then an old man and a middle-aged woman rushed near Wei Ying, the old man checked Wei Ying and then bowed to the middle-aged woman, "Heavenly Empress it's the curse that is acting up."

The Heavenly Empress glanced at Lan Wangji and said, "the moment Li Yu sent me the message, I thought that would be the case." She then looked back to the old man and said, "Medicine king do you have some medicine, some elixir, some method that can restore his health."
