Chapter 6: Shizu

*3rd person POV*

The Guildmaster Fuze was holding a paper. In front of him were the three humans Rimuru and Y/N had seen in the cave. They were very dirty and tired. They had just gotten back from investigating the cave. The Guildmaster spoke.

"There's no sign that the Eastern Empire is trying to cross the Great Forest of Jura. Not yet, at least. Our intelligence bureau is continuing to monitor them. So, how did it go in the Great Forest of Jura?"

"It was a disaster! Can't you even say that you're glad that we came back in one piece?"

"Let's hear your report."

"Seriously? We just got back."

"I really want a bath..."

"You think you two had it rough? I had to listen to you two squabbling all the time."

Fuze was getting a bit impatient.

"Um... While in the cave, we confirmed Veldora's disappearance. We then searched the cave, but found nothing."

"Nothing?"

"No, nothing. Absolutely nothing."

"I'm now clear on what happened in the cave."

"Then, we'll be-"

"I'll give you three days off."

"Huh?"

All three were surprised. Or shocked.

"Next, instead of the cave, search around the forest."

"Huh?"

"The monsters may be more active now that Veldora is gone. Don't overlook any changes, no matter how small. Be thorough. Search every nook and cranny. You may go."

The three of them looked horrified.

A while later

"'You may go,' my ass!"

"Why only three days?! Give us a longer break! We just got back, you know!"

"I wish you would've said all that to the guildmaster."

"Give us a longer break!"

"That stupid old geezer!"

"We have to go back to that forest?"

"Jeez, can't we do anything but complain? It's making me feel worse."

"I want my bath..."

"Excuse me."

"Huh?"

They all turned around and saw a woman with a mask.

"Who are you?"

"Did you not say you are going to the Great Forest of Jura?"

"What if we did?"

"Would you allow me to accompany you through the forest?"

The man thought for a moment, before their sorcerer spoke.

"Sure!"

"Hey! I'm the leader! You can't give the okay before I do!"

"Why not? Traveling is best with companions, and life is best with compassion. Eren, Kaval and Gido."

"Shizu."

"Welcome aboard, Shizu!"

"Sheesh... We leave in three days. If that's okay with you, come along if you want."
