Since we had moved over during the very last two quarters of school, it went by quickly giving us our two months of summer break and oh boy was I excited. I really wanted to go out and hang out with my friends. Well, Isa was my friend while Kelly was still like a sister to me so it didn't count. Y/n was also dragged along with us here and there when the other two pushed her hard enough but she always seemed out of it.

I wasn't going to bother with her anymore because I was afraid to constantly get my feelings hurt by her. I've learned my lesson and will be doing my best not to make the same mistakes by trying to make a friend out of her.

She was so nonchalant to the point where you could throw a ball at her head and she'd probably have a delayed reaction. She was weird. I've never met someone like her before.

"Y'all wanna go to laser tag?" Isa suggested with Kelly sitting beside her in the booth.

I didn't expect them to click together that quick but here they were going two months strong. I adored their relationship and wished that for myself one day but if I didn't even have proper friends, where the hell would I find someone to date. That aspect of my life would just have to come way later.

"I wanna go there." Kelly agreed. "Y/n you wanna go?"

She shrugged her shoulders sipping her chocolate milkshake and eating some of the fries she had left.

"Anyways, how about you Bey, you cool with that?"

I nodded my head, "Yeah, I don't mind."

The three of got out after paying and went to the arcade to join in for a game of laser tag with all these other kids.

Y/n and I were on the same team and that made me so glad because I just knew that if we were on the opposing teams then she would target me first. I wasn't even good at laser tag but it was a fun game to play and I wouldn't pass on it.

"We got this baby," I heard Isa say as they shared a kiss. Y/n and I were looking at them before making eye contact and she was the first to look away like usual. I couldn't lie and say that I didn't feel envious of their relationship I mean come on now, who wouldn't want to be all lovey dovey like that? Probably Y/n.

"Alright y'all ready? You know the rules, no physical contact with each other because you really don't need to. You can aim at the center of the vest or the shoulders area, pretty sure y'all know the rules already. I don't need no rough housing in their or cheating and all that, play nicely and....."

Yeah yeah yeah, I tuned out the rest of what she was going to say because I've heard it way too many times. I was against the wall holding onto my rifle just waiting for whenever we would be allowed to start when I could feel someone staring at me.

Looking forward Y/n quickly looked away and I knew she was the one staring at me. Did I do something?

Finally the lady let us in as all the kids scattered out getting into position to start playing.

I hid behind some random tall object to hide myself and once we started playing someone from the opposite team had already shot me making my vest vibrate and my rifle deactivated for some time.

I just stayed there thinking the person who shot me would just walk away to other players since I was no use but instead they came over to me smiling and taking a good look at them it was Calvin from our school. He was a senior who everyone knew but was a nice guy and did his own thing. Hell, he was even nicer than Y/n and we barely ever interacted.

"Hey Beyoncé, I didn't think you would be here."

"Oh hey, same. I didn't know you would be here either."
