It's about damn time I do one of these in 2020 as i'm now older than previous me. my opinions have matured and slightly changed and I feel like I gave many of the shippings unfair ratings and was rather immature about my criticisms. So, i'm doing it...
Now we come onto the pairing of Serena and Clemont, which is known as GeekChicShipping. Now usually, I'm all for the nerd gets the girl but here, Nah I'm not digging it. It's not even like either character are bad because I really enjoy Serena's character in XY and XYZ, and Clemont gets some very solid development and his character, in general, is solid (still no Brock tho). The moments aren't too bad to be honest but I have other people I ship these two people with. Plus I think DiodeShipping is a much better shipping than GeekChic. I think a lot of people might point to the fact that Bunnebly and Eevee (later Sylveon) got along so well, but come on we're clutching at straws to focus on that. I know they did dance together in one episode but even that felt kinda forced because Miette massively cockblocked Serena (I'm probably using the wrong terminology) by asking Ash to dance with her and because Ash is a dense bastard, he agreed. I don't hate these two together, I just don't support it.
Rating: 5/10 - I'm not angry, I'm not disappointed, I just fail to care.
