Nico POV
For the first time in centuries, Nico didn’t fall asleep to the sound of his own crying. He fell asleep to the feeling of warmth, both from the comfy bed and the word’s that had come from Will’s mouth.
No one had spoken so nice to him, so lovingly, in so long it was foreign. The feeling of his stomach being flipped inside out, his mind being too jumbled to form words, and all the tension leaving his body in a matter of seconds.
But, of course, this glorious feeling had to be ruined by the one type of curse that could never be broken.
He was in a dark room, no signs of exits. It was pitch black except for the single spotlight that shined on him and another spot right in front of him. He looked around and realized he was a monster again; clawed finger nails, fanged teeth, red eyes, and his disgusting octopus-like lower body.
He wanted to hide himself from the light shining down on him, he wanted to become his human form again, but it didn’t work.
In his failed efforts, he then began to notice a figure forming under the other spotlight.
“Papa?” he whispered, still panicking, feeling like he had no control over his body.
“Don’t call me that,” he sneered. He didn’t look kind like how Nico remembered him, he looked cold and judgmental, like he was ready to tear Nico limb from limb if he made a wrong move. “It’s all your fault.”
“I-I don’t know what you’re talking about,” he whimpered, knowing full well where this conversation was going.
“You stupid, disgusting child. It’s all your fault,” his father snarled, making Nico want to shrink back even more. His father looked him up and down. “Look at what you’ve become.”
Tears brimmed Nico’s eyes as he tried to hide himself in his arms, but he couldn’t hide from what he looked like. Before he could get a word in, his father’s image flashed, and in the moment, it looked bloody and mangled, just like how he’d looked when he died. Nico yelled out in fright wanting to look away, but he just couldn’t.
Then the image vanished, only to become another image, his mother. Her form is crying hysterically, on her knees, sobbing.
“Why? Look at what you’ve done to yourself, what you’ve done to us! What did we do to deserve this? Nico, don’t do this, please, I beg you!” she cried.
“Mama! I-I’m not doing anything, I’m sorry!” He cried, trying to reach out to her, to help her, but his body stayed glued to the floor.
“Nico why are you doing this? I loved you! Why are you torturing us? Just stop, I’ll do anything, please!” her image was flickering as well, from her crying form to her dead, decapitated body.
“I-I can’t do anything! Please forgive me!” Nice cried, hot tears streaming his face faster than he could count.
Her image disappeared leaving Nico alone once again to cry than his mother had. He did this to them. It was his fault, wasn’t it.
Finally, the last person came.
Bianca.
“I thought we were family,” her voice was hoarse, and cracking, her eyes watering. “Family doesn’t hurt each other, Nico. Why would you let this happen? And then not even having the audacity to die with the rest of us. How could you?”
