XXIV. Tic-tac

Bucky sat in the back while Skylar sat in the front with Sam. She had decided to go to sleep because this wasn't a regular car ride.

They stopped where Sharon was waiting for them. "Don't move." Steve said as he got out the car. "Wasn't planning on it." Skylar said sleepily.

"Not sure you understand the concept of a getaway car." She heard Sharon say. "It's low profile." Steve defended.

"Good, because this stuff tends to draw a crowd." She said as she opened the trunk of her car, revealing Steve's, Skylar's, and Sams's gear.

"Can you move your seat up?" Bucky asked. "No." Sam stated bluntly. Bucky moves to the middle as Sam glances over at him.

"I owe you again." Steve reminded. "Keeping a list." Sharon said. She glances at Bucky. "You know, he kinda tried to kill me." "Sorry." Steve apologized. "I'll put it on the list, too. They're going to come looking for you." "I know." Sharon said.

They kissed. Sam whistled as Skylar tilted her head. "Boys are disgusting." She said. Sam looked over at her, an eyebrow raised. "What? Isn't she like his niece?" Sam looked at them once again. "Way to ruin the moment, Sky." He said sarcastically.

After an hour and a half of driving finally parked next to a van. Clint and Wanda were standing there.

Wanda surprisingly glared at Skylar once she got out. "Hello, big bird." Skylar said to him. "Hey, kid." Clint said smiling. "The compound isn't the same without your non-laughing humor." She said. He chuckled as she gave him a side hug. "Nice to see you too."

"Cap." Clint said. "You know I wouldn't have called If I had any other choice." Steve said to him. "Hey man, you're doing me a favor. Besides, I owe a debt." Clint assured.

"Thanks for having my back." Steve said. "It was time to get off my a*s." Wanda said still looking at Skylar but her glare a little softer. The purple haired girl glanced sideways.

"How about our other recruit?" Steve asked. Skylar knew exactly who it was. Sam told her about Scott Lang, the not even close to famous ant man.

"He's rarin' to go." Clint said as he opened the door. Scott jumped awake at the sound. "Had to put a little coffee in him, but... he should be good."

"What timezone is this?" Scott asked. Skylar smiled and looked at Sam who just shook his head.

"Come on. Come on." Clint urged Scott out of the car.

Scott shakes Steve's hand with an amazed look. "Captain America." He said in awe. "Mr. Lang." Steve said calmly smiling slightly.

"It's an honor. I'm shaking your hand too long." Scott quickly took his hand away. "Wow! This is awesome! Captain America."

He looks at Skylar. "I know you, too. You're great!"Skylar smiled and waved. She had barley known Scott for not even five minutes and she already loved him.

Scott turns  back and feels Steve's shoulders. "Jeez. Ah, look, I wanna say, I know you know a lot of super people, so ... thinks for thanking of me." Scott says.  He turns to Sam. "Hey, man!"

"What's up, Tic Tac?" Sam asked with arms crossed. "Uh, good to see you. Look, what happened last time when I..." Scott trailed off.

"It was a great audition, but it'll never happen again."

"They tell you what we're up against?" Steve asked Scott. "Something about some ... psycho-assassins?" Scott answered.

"We're outside the law on this one." Steve nodded "So, if you come with us, you're a wanted man."

"Way to scare the guy." Skylar smirked.

"Yeah, well, what else is new?" Scott said

"We should get moving." Bucky said suddenly. "We got a chopper lined up." Clint said. A German voice came from the speakers saying that they were evaluating the airport.

"They're evacuating the airport." Bucky translated.

"Stark." Sam said to Steve.

"Suit up." Steve said. Everyone disappeared. Skylar was already in her suit. She had a bad feeling about this fight. Nobody wanted it.

Yet she'd stay quiet.
