Designs For The New Winery - Chapter 47

Daylight has set into the room. Y/n starts to wake up and sees Diluc beside her. She smiles at him as he smiles back at her

Diluc: good morning
Y/n: good morning to you too
Diluc: did you sleep well in the end?
Y/n: yeah thank you... I appreciate you being there for me last night
Diluc: of course... I'll always be here to comfort you

Diluc kisses her then stares back at her

Y/n: so... what's next?
Diluc: We can get some breakfast if you're hungry?
Y/n: no I mean what's next?... what is your next plan?
Diluc: well umm Zhongli is going to be taking care of the plans for the new winery but I thought maybe we could discuss what we want to do with it?
Y/n: how do you mean?
Diluc: well I thought that maybe we could make the winery, something other then a winery?
Y/n: really? Like what?
Diluc: like... maybe you could design something for me?
Y/n: r-really?! You want me to design the new winery?!
Diluc: yeah I want to see your ideas for it. You are from another world. Maybe this world needs something new
Y/n: aww Diluc, I'll try my very best to make something you'd like!
Diluc: I know you will

He kisses her on the cheek. Diluc then gets out of the bed and starts getting changed. Y/n then grabs her sketch book at the side of the bed

Diluc: what are you doing?
Y/n: I'm going to make some designs?
Diluc: now? You don't have to get it done right away
Y/n: sorry *chuckles* I'm just excited to start. I want to get as many ideas as possible for the winery
Diluc: *chuckles* I'm glad to see you in a better mood. Come on, you can sketch out some ideas over breakfast
Y/n: *chuckles* ok

Diluc and Y/n get ready and go for breakfast. They are eating in the study room. Y/n is drawing in her sketch book while Diluc tries to peek at her work

Y/n: hey nosy, you're going to have to wait before you see my designs
Diluc: *chuckles* ok fine. When can I see them then?
Y/n: hmm when I have made some final decisions
Diluc: don't you want my opinion?
Y/n: of course I do. I just want to be a bit more certain with my ideas and have completed my designs
Diluc: fair enough

It is now the end of the day. Diluc is about to leave the study so they can go to bed. He sees y/n still sketching at the table and not getting up from her chair

Diluc: aren't you coming?
Y/n: hmm? Oh yeah I'll be up soon
Diluc: alright. I'm just going to have a bath then. See you in a bit

Kisses her on the head. Diluc leaves the room. He then goes to get cleaned and ready for bed. When he leaves the bathroom he sees y/n still hasn't come up to the room. He waits a little longer but she still doesn't come up. Diluc puts on a robe and makes his way back to the study. He sees y/n is still drawing. He goes up behind her and wraps his arms around her but she puts the pad down so he doesn't see the drawings.

Diluc: I thought you were coming upstairs
Y/n: y-yeah I am. I just want to finish a couple of the designs
Diluc: do you want me to stay here till you finish?
Y/n: no it's fine. You go ahead. I'll be up soon
Diluc: you sure?
Y/n: yeah, I won't be long
Diluc: ...ok

Diluc goes back up. He goes to the room and in the bed waiting for y/n. After a while he starts pacing back and forth, wondering why she was taking so long. He notices that she has been gone for about an hour now. He heads back down with his robe on a final time to check on her. When he enters the room he sees y/n drawing on the pad yet again but her eyes look more blood shot

Diluc: y-y/n? You have been here a while. Shouldn't you leave this till tomorrow? There really isn't a rush for these designs
Y/n: I know that
Diluc: then why are you still down here?
Y/n: because I want to...want to make sure they are perfect...
Diluc: y/n... I'm sure whatever you come up with is perfect. Please just come to bed now

Diluc tries to push the pad away from her and get her to stand up

Y/n: NO!

Diluc steps back startled

Y/n: I-I'm sorry I didn't mean to yell at you... I just-
Diluc: ... you're scared to fall back asleep again aren't you?
Y/n: I-I...
Diluc: y/n... I know it's scary... but I promise you that these are just bad dreams... they can't hurt you. And I'll help you in whatever way I can for you to get past them...
Y/n: but how can I face these dreams again? They are based on my past. How can I forget my past?
Diluc: ...by focusing on your future

Diluc takes y/n's hand and places it on his heart. She looks at his chest then back up at him. She then smiles and hugs him. He puts his arms around her, comforting her

Diluc: come on. Let's get you to bed.

Diluc quickly picks her up bridal style

Y/n: woah! Hahaha
Diluc: you aren't allowed to lift a finger till tomorrow now
Y/n: haha it is tomorrow
Diluc: no I mean TOMORROW. You are staying in that room and taking a break
Y/n: *smiles* fine. If you insist master Diluc
Diluc: *chuckles* don't start that now.
Y/n: start what? *smirks*
Diluc: you are such a tease
Y/n: *chuckles*
