"...whatever the reason, my actions will be decided after this..."

               Re-estize kingdom / 3rd pov

the Re-estize kingdom was a beautiful place full of life and surrounded by laughter.

it was the type of place where adventurers would usually start out their careers. knights and people were usually seen roaming the streets, shops and merchants usually filled the busy streets of this kingdom. overall, it was a great place...

...is what one would have said before taking a look at the destruction and remains that used to be the kingdom.

all around, rubbles and smokes filled the now dead kingdom. the streets that were once filled with life and people were now littered with corpses and death.

as accelerator and zohak flew over the kingdom, no signs of life seemed evident on this catastrophe land.

but accelerator was no fool.

he could tell there was still some people hiding behind whatever remained of their shelters, most likely they were unable to escape the kingdom in time and ended up getting caught in the war. now, its all they can do just to hide in hopes of not running into any of the sorcerer kingdom's forces.

though believe it or not, staying behind may have been the safer option. having already seen enough of this world to know how selfish and arrogant those at the top were, if they had left this kingdom, no nation would have accepted them as refugees in fear of not wanting to get involved. and should that be the case, these people who are inexperienced at fighting would have only serve as food for the demi-humans who roamed the forests outside these walls.

well, not like it matter.

their situation has nothing to do with accelerator, so he couldn't care less. he's not one of those cheesy heroes who goes around sticking their nose where it doesnt belong, thinking he's some hero of justice or something.

and so, he frankly ignored them and continued flying around, eyeing the destruction and looking for any sort of sign as to what to what to expect in case his kingdom ends up being the next target.

"master, over there! that palace looks untouched even amongst all this destruction, should we make way there?" zohak says as he looks over at the distance.

true to his words, at the center of the kingdom stood a castle, untouched by the destruction which befell its surroundings. though, it was obvious that wasnt going to be for long, as the destruction was progressing slowly deeper into the kingdom, eventually it'll reach that palace.

"ya, make it quick." accelerator says while looking at the palace he assumed belong to the king who rules this place.

hearing his master's words, zohak once again flapped his wings and picked up speed towards the palace. his enormous shadow casting on the ground below as he zooms past the rubbles.

they flew for a few seconds before accelerator heard something that caught his attention.

"mommy!"

looking down from zohak's back, he could see a little girl standing and crying in front of a burning rubble that likely used to be a building. based on her behavior, it was quite clear she managed to make it out of there in time but her mother was unfortunately, not as lucky.

"tch."

without saying a word, accelerator simply jumped off of zohak, surprising the dragon lord as he brings his speed to a halt.
