World items.

It stood as The great equalizer within the world of Yggdrasil.
Regardless of race or level, the gap in power is something which could easily be overturned depending on whohas a hold of one. Though it should be noted, of the different types of world items that exist, the ones capable of rendering an opponent's level and skills useless are usually one-time uses.
As such, once a guild has acquired a world item, their main focus is to level up and strengthen both their base and individual members, as they are now at risk of having their world item plundered by a stronger guild.

Because a world item is a power best reserved as a last resort.

This is the basic strategic play adopted by every yggdrasil gamers.

In that sense, one could say that the goal of Yggdrasil is to collect all world items.
Only then, could you truly be acknowledged as the strongest.

Of course, there are always exceptions..

World-ranking players such as Lord Touch Me, who are capable of even soloing high level guilds through their own strength built up from countless hours of grinding.

there also exist players who can buy their way to the top.
The classic pay-to-win strategy found in all RPG games. Buying the best gear, weapons, and items necessary to become dominant at PVP.
Such a strategy is one practiced by the leader of Yggdrasil's strongest guild, Lord Momonga.

However...

A sinister roar from the darkness dragonlord blasted everything away, friend and foe alike.
The very air vibrated and rippled like the violent sea.

Space itself was bending.

Dark purple lightning emitted uncontrollably from the dragonlord as it rendered and threw the skies into chaos.

Albedo could only stare with disbelief in her eyes. Unable to comprehend the scene before her.

Within the world of Yggdrasil exists many strategies and individual talents.
However, in the face of one of the twenty world items...

All such things are truly meaningless.

That is because the weapons known as the twenty world items are a a complete category of their own.

These are the twenty most powerful items within the game that can't be bought even with money.
They are items capable of rewriting the very game and even completely and permanently erasing one's data.
The twenty world items were created to give the most powerful of players the ability to play god. Because those who possess these items have almost as much power and freedom as the admin.
