"Again, I don't understand why we have to go on this boat afternoon today, we came home at 6 am and I just woke up, I don't want to burn in the sun and it's not like I'm going to go in the water." He protested.

I sighed and lifted his blanket again to not let him fall back asleep.

" Shawn, please! I need you to come because first, it's your dad's boat and second, I have no idea how to drive it and you know it! "

He groaned and I laid on his back while his head was buried in the pillow.

" But why today?" He asked.

"Because Lauren is not available the rest of the week and after she's going to L.A and I really want to set her up with Brian! We will just be there to  chaperone really."

"Then I suggest you go learn how to drive a boat."

"Shawn!"

I pulled on his tee-shirt and he turned to be on his side which made me fall on the bed, he took advantage of it to trap me with his body and hold me tight against him.

"Let's just take a nap together, it's weird to not sleep with you anymore."

"No! We have to go now!"

He smiled while his eyes were closed and he tightened his grip on me. I growled trying to look obsessed but despite we were running late, I was actually enjoying his proximity and his smell all around me. It was soothing.

" Okay, let's make a deal. If you go prepare yourself, I'll sneak out tonight to sleep with you. "

He suddenly opened his eyes and stared at me with a frown.

" Really? You're not messing with me, right? "

" No, if you go with us, I'll sneak in your room. " I said like I was doing a concession while I was missing sleeping with him too.

"Okay then."

And just like that, he got up and went to his bathroom.

I was brightly smiling when Shawn turned on the motor and the boat began to move. Brian and Lauren were sitting at the other end of the boat and were laughing about something.

" See? I'm sure it's going to help him."

"Whatever." he sighed.

I loved doing these things, it reminded me of when we were younger and we would do boat trips with his family and mine. It was very happy memories, and it reminded me of my dad. He would always make us laugh and I couldn't count the time where he had failed to drive the engine. He would also bring his guitar with him and sing Mexican songs that I had ended up knowing by heart. Shawn put his arm around me, probably noticing that I was a little sad.

"I miss him too."

I looked at him and his eyes were saying so much right now. I hugged his side and he stayed focused on the sea while gently brushing my back. When we were far enough, he turned down the motor and threw the anchor.

"You're sure your dad fixed it this time?" Brian joked.

We all laughed remembering this episode.

"The next day, they were burnt by the sun, I've never seen Shawn so red." Lauren added.

" Yeah it took me weeks to have a normal skin color again and my skin peeled like crazy."

I snorted, remembering him taking off part of his dead skin on the couch with a total look of disgust on his face.
