Chapter 83: The Date

MADELINE

After I choose the dress, Nat and Wanda help me get ready. They curl my hair and I put on make-up. I do my eye in an orange-red smokey eye that compliments the dress and brings out the blue in my eyes. 

As I look at myself in the mirror I have to admit, I look good. I grin at Nat and Wanda as they watch me, "What do you think?" I twirl for them. 

"Gorgeous," Wanda says with a smile and Nat smirks at me and says, "Smoking hot." 

I laugh, "Alright, both work for me." 

As it's almost 5pm we all leave my room and I go to the lounge area to meet the boys. 

When I see Tony, Clint and Bruce sitting on the couches I suddenly realize they can't know I'm going on a date with both boys and if they see Bucky waiting for me they'll know somethings going on. My blood runs cold as I look around the lounge area. 

Neither of the boys are here and I exhale a sigh of relief. I whisper to Nat, "I need to warn Steve that they're here, they can't see both of them." She nods quickly at me and I take my phone out to send him a text. 

Madeline: Steve, the others are in the lounge area. You can't both come pick me up! 

Steve: Calm down baby, I got it under control

My brows furrow as I read his message. Hopefully they have a plan that doesn't include this whole thing blowing up in my face. 

As I see Steve walking down the hallway I almost want to jump his bones right there. He's wearing a dark blue button-up shirt, dress pants and a black jacket on top. His hair is slicked back and he looks absolutely delicious. 

He walks up to me and grabs my waist. "Hey love," he says as he pulls me in for a kiss. As he pulls away he looks me up and down, "Wow, you look... breathtaking. That dress is good on you.. Natasha's?" 

I giggle a little, "Yeah, obviously." 

He chuckles and then leans in close to my ear, "Just follow me and act normal, I got it under control... Oh and don't think I didn't notice that you're not wearing a bra. Is that on purpose?"

I blush at him and bite my lower lip before I whisper back, "Nat told me the dress required it." 

"Well, I have to thank Nat for that later then," Steve replies with a chuckle and it makes me blush even more.

He pulls out a bouquet of roses behind his back, "Oh, almost forgot. Flowers. Not because I have to, but because you love flowers and I love you." 

I giggle as I realize he remembered what I told them the other day and take the flowers from him, inhaling deeply. "Mmh, they smell good," I say as I close my eyes. 

"You smell better," he whispers in my ear and his breath tickles my skin, sending shivers up my spine. 

I go to Nat and ask her if she will put the flowers in water for me and she nods at me with a smile. As I walk back to Steve, Tony finally notices us. 

"Where are you going all dressed up?"

"I'm taking her on a date," Steve replies as he smiles at Tony. 

"About time," Tony says and I laugh, nodding. 

"Don't wait up," Steve says and then he guides me towards the elevators. I turn around quickly and wave to Nat and Wanda, and Nat winks at me as I do. 

Once Steve and I get into the elevator I turn to him. "Where's Bucky?"

"Downstairs, by the car. I figured there would be people so we planned it out beforehand. He got down there without anyone noticing."
