Chapter 154: Friends

MADELINE

Training with Wanda is challenging, to say the least. She decided to bring Thor along and they've both been kicking my ass for the past two hours. 

"Why are you doing this to me?" I ask, panting, as I look at the both of them. 

"We're punishing you for neglecting your training while you've been here," Wanda says sternly as she moves her hands and launches a power attack towards me, which I only narrowly avoid. 

"But I'm on vacation!" I exclaim as I spin around, launching one back at her. 

She shields the energy off with her powers as she chuckles, "No, you're not. You were supposed to go here to fix your brain, not get lazy!" 

Thor laughs loudly and I glare at him, "Not funny! And I'm not lazy!" 

"By the way you're sweating and panting I would elect to say otherwise," Thor says dryly as Wanda attacks me again. 

I huff in annoyance and concentrate on my power, dropping to my knees with my hands on the ground, and sending it off in her direction. 

Wanda squeals as she lands on her ass and I laugh loudly, "Who's lazy now?" 

"Still you," she grumbles as she gets up, "That's not playing fair."

I scoff, "Who cares about fair? I needed to shut you up so we can finish. I have a birthday party to get ready for!" 

Thor shakes his head as he chuckles, looking at us in amusement, "Okay Madeline, I guess that's enough for today then. We can train again tomorrow." 

"The hell we are," I say as I grab my bag from the floor, "Tomorrow's my birthday. We're not training tomorrow." 

"We'll see about that," Thor says as he looks at me sternly and I scrunch my face up in a grimace at him. 

"Are you coming to Nat's room to get ready?" Wanda asks, finally back on her feet. 

"Oh, now you wanna be my friend?" I say jokingly, "A second ago you wanted to kill me!" 

"Calm down drama queen," she replies with a chuckle, "It's all friendly, right?" She winks at me and I roll my eyes with a smile. 

"I'll come to Nat's as soon as I'm done showering. I took a shower this morning before I came, but you guys," I glare and point my finger at the both of them, "Just made another one necessary!" 

I stomp out of the training room while I hear them both laughing behind me.

After my second shower that day, I grab my stuff to go to Nat's before the party. 

I look through my choices of outfits to bring and quickly realize I didn't bring anything that's remotely festive. 

As I look through my clothes with a frown on my face, I hear the door opening. 

"Maddie?"

"Bedroom," I yell back as I hear Bucky walk into the room. 

"What are you doing?" he asks as he sees me going through my clothes, an annoyed look on my face. 

"Trying to find something to wear tonight," I grumble, "I didn't bring anything for a party." 

"Doll, I'm pretty sure Nat has something for you." 

"Yeah, but I always borrow from her," I whine, "I feel bad about asking again."
