raelynn had originally planned to facetime karl a few days ago but now it was a day before she was supposed to meet him irl.

her heart was beating out of her chest as her finger hovered over the facetime button.

it was now or never.

was it mean to hope he didn't pick up?

she took a deep breathe and pressed the button. she had angled it so that the camera was showing her ceiling.

unfortunately karl had indeed picked up.

"raelynn?"

"hi karl," she waved her hand over the camera

"I was not expecting you to facetime me..."

"well, hi."

"I like your ceiling," he smiled.

his face was really close to the camera, he looked happy.

"thank you, I like it too. its nice to look at."

"oh, great. are you excited for tomorrow?"

"well yeah, I'm kinda nervous though."

"why are you nervous?" he asked, furrowing his brows.

"I dunno..."

"don't be nervous,"

"it isn't that easy, karl." she laughed.

"aw damn."

"I wish it was though," she shrugged.

"me too, if that was how it worked then I would just never be nervous. ever."

"THE karl jacobs gets nervous!?!" raelynn joked

"yeah, I do, for a matter of fact, I am right now."

"really? why?"

"I haven't really spoken to you face to face before... well, face to ceiling."

"hm," raelynn nodded, even though he couldn't see her yet.

"hold on, I have to do something really quick." he said, putting down his phone so that it was propped up against one of his monitors and leaving the room.

raelynn sighed, now was the time.

she quickly propped her phone up on her monitor so that the camera showed her face.

she was starting to panic.

it was too late to just leave, right? it was definitely too late.

she closed her eyes and took a deep breathe, opening them again when she heard him coming.

"alright, I'm back," he exclaimed sitting in his chair and immediately freezing up.

he had widened his eyes and his cheeks flushed a bright red.

"hi," raelynn squeaked nervously.

"oh my god."

raelynn smiled awkwardly as she watched him stare intently at her.

he broke into a grin.

"you're the girl that spilled a starbucks drink all over my favorite shirt- how did I not guess it was you. nobody would do that and laugh, nobody except you."

"well, you have to admit that it was really funny." raelynn chuckled.

"yeah,"

Karl's POV.
