The two boys finally arrived at the Fowler mansion which made Kurapika kind of excited and anxious, he wonders if he will bump into one of Y/n's relatives, he even planned out what to talk about if he ever comes across one of them 

"Welcome home Master Y/n" The butlers and maids greeted and bowed in unison as the two boys walked inside 

"Hey guys! I was wondering if I could meet father and the rest? I wanna show off my hunters license to them hehe" Y/n chuckled as he showed off his hunters license to his butlers and maids, Kurapika found this cute making him chuckle

"Your father was actually expecting you Master Y/n, he is currently upstairs waiting for you" one of the maids mentioned as she bowed again to respectfully greet Y/n 

"Can I bring Kurapika with me? I kinda wanna introduce him to my family" Y/n pointed to Kurapika who got caught off guard, he was surprised about meeting and talking to Y/n's parents

"Unfortunately sir your father has requested that only you can meet him and no one else" one of the butlers informed Y/n who frowned before deciding to leave Kurapika behind

"Well sorry you don't get to meet my father Kurapika, will you be fine waiting for me?" Y/n asked Kurapika who nodded his head at him

"Don't worry about me I'll be fine" Kurapika reassured Y/n who then proceeded to go upstairs to the family room to meet his father

The butlers and the maids then leaded Kurapika to the lounge and offered him tea, Kurapika noticed two of the butlers in distress, this made Kurapika worried but didn't pay to much attention it, he didn't know what Y/n has to deal with when meeting his father

"Hello father, I'm glad to finally be back home" Y/n bowed to his father who acknowledged his presence

"Did you get your hunters license?" His father asked as Y/n pulled it out of his pocket

"Pretty cool right? I was hoping to bring along Claude now that I have a hunters license" Y/n mentioned his younger brother making his father a bit distressed

"I'm afraid I can't let you do that" the father declared making Y/n confused at his statement

"But I got my hunters license, I should be able to bring Claude with me, He waited days for me to come back and I-" 

"Me and your mother decided to banish you from the family" The father cut off Y/n making Y/n frozen in his spot, he was confused and shocked at the words he was hearing 

"And that means cutting ties from you and removing Fowler off your name" his father continued making Y/n mentally breakdown, when he thought that his family actually cared for him now their throwing him away like trash

"W-Why are you-" Y/n tried to speak but words couldn't come out of his mouth, he had felt betrayed and can't do anything about it

"We also decided to take the mark off your neck to prove that you are no longer part of the Fowler family" His father added as he signaled his bodyguards to hold Y/n down not letting him move around

Y/n resisted and kept shouting to his father as to why he would do such a thing, he saw that one of the bodyguards went closer to him holding a hot knife to scrape off the mark on his neck

"NO PLEASE, LET ME GO I'LL DO ANYTHING, JUST DON'T HURT ME PLEASE" Y/n pleaded as the scorching knife touched his neck leaving him crying in pain

He believed in them and admired them now their just throwing him out like he was nothing in the first place

"You are no longer my son" His father coldly said as Y/n was getting his wound patched up by one of the bodyguards, he didn't feel anything and was numb to it all, he didn't know what to do, he was helpless

Y/n was then escorted out of the family room by the body guards, he looked to his side to see his siblings giving him a cold stare like he was nothing, he couldn't spot Claude and that didn't mind him, he doesn't deserve to see him like this

As he was about to leave he faced one of the maids to ask them a question

"Do you mind telling me where's Nicholas?" Y/n asked in a monotone voice, If he can't see Claude at least let him meet Nicholas

The maids didn't say anything which made Y/n sigh he was no longer part of the family why should they even answer, he thought about it but one of the maids handed him a piece of paper, he looked at it and saw an address, it must be Nicholas's address

"Thank you" He mumbled as he left the mansion, he was greeted by Kurapika who had been waiting for him by the front gate, Y/n didn't want Kurapika to see him like this and decided to force a smile to not let Kurapika worry 

"I'm sorry did you wait long?" Y/n greeted Kurapika shook his head, at the moment Kurapika already knows something happened to Y/n

"No not at all, did something happen?" Kurapika questioned in a worried tone as they walked out of the front gate of the mansion

"No nothing happened, I just ended up showing off my hunters license" Y/n forced himself to keep it together but was too obvious for Kurapika

Kurapika then spotted a patch on his neck and asked Y/n what it was, Y/n only laughed it off and covered it by his hand

"Uhh...a bug went in the room while we were talking and it managed to bite my neck" Y/n acted making Kurapika annoyed and worried about it

"Y/n you've been my friend ever since the hunters exam" Kurapika started as Y/n still acted dumb

"Seeing you like this hurts me, if you wanna keep acting like this then it's fine but please let me make you feel like I'm a person worth trusting" Kurapika continued making Y/n sigh in defeat, he couldn't hide it anymore and in all honesty he needed someone to talk to

"I was banished from the family" Y/n started as he rubbed his wounded neck, this caused Kurapika to be shocked at his statement 

"They cut off all ties from me and removed Fowler on my name" Y/n continued as Kurapika listened carefully

"They also decided to remove the mark off my neck to prove I am no longer a part of the family" Y/n added as he showed Kurapika the wound he had, this made Kurapika furious and headed straight back to the mansion

Y/n tried stopping Kurapika but he insisted to have a talk with Y/n's father as to why he would just throw away his son like that

"Kurapika it's no use, if he made his mind up about something he is never going to second guess it" Y/n insisted as he grabbed Kurapika by his shoulder to stop him

"What father would do such a thing to their own child!" Kurapika shouted in anger as he began to fume up

As Y/n looked at Kurapika he noticed his scarlet eyes being shown, this cause Kurapika to look away in distress, Kurapika didn't like Y/n to see his scarlet eyes be visible it's because he thinks his eyes are scary, Y/n noticed this and grabbed his face to properly face him

"I'm alright Kurapika, I didn't need them anyway, If we return to the mansion it will just show that I'm weak without them, which is not true" Y/n assured Kurapika who still had their hands on his face

"It hurts real bad when you thought they finally cared but it turns out you were just nothing to them" Y/n began as his voice was starting to break, tears were starting to form on Y/n's eyes which was quickly wiped by his arm

"We have to keep moving forward no matter how hard it is since we really have no choice" Y/n continued as he wiped his tears making Kurapika frown at the sight 

Kurapika finally calmed down making Y/n relief, he didn't want Kurapika to go berserk once he reaches the mansion, Y/n grabbed Kurapika's arm and leaded him back to the train station where they will finally take on the flesh collector's job
