Chapter 8

Ella's POV

Here I was, in a room alone with the one person I never want to see again to do a chemistry read. I couldn't make this day worse if I wanted to.

"Soooo." Walker started breaking the silence.

"Uh I guess we should start." I said looking down at the paper. This was gonna be awkward.

"Where would I be without you?" I said resting my head on his shoulder as written on the script. He awkwardly shuffled to the edge of his seat. This isn't gonna work is it.

"Look Walker, we both don't want to do this but we need the job. The sooner we finish this practice the sooner we can leave." I said trying to snap some sense into him.

"Ok fine." He said looking anywhere but at me.

"Where would I be without you?" I said a little smoother this time. Instead of pulling away he lightly rested his head against mine and eased into me.

"Probably still with Eggie." He said reaching and grabbing my hand. If I wasn't for the sake of the show I would have jolted away immediately.

"You know what I mean." I said looking in his sparkling green eyes. Our lips were now inches away.

"Do I though?" He said before his eyes drifted to my lips. After a few moments we both pulled away.

"That was actually really good!" I gushed out looking at him.

"Am I dreaming or did the Ella Noel just compliment me." He teased.

"I was talking about me, duh." I said rolling my eyes.

Walker POV

The director came back in a few moments later.

"So how'd it go" He asked us.
We both nodded not knowing what to say.

"Great, so now just do it once in front of me and then we'll call it a day" He finished.

Again?!

"Ok" we both said together.

"Where would I be without you" Ella said resting her head on my shoulder. I gently put mine head on top of hers, like I did minutes ago.

"Probably still with Eggie" I said reaching for her hand. There was something about this time that made me weird. Her hand in mine felt almost right? What no! We're acting Walker, snap out of it!

"You know what I mean" She said lifting her head slightly, and looked at me. My eyes went immediately down to her lips instead of her eyes, like the first time.

What am I doing?!

"Do I though?" I said back,  looking in her eyes, lost in them before drifting my eyes back down to her lips.

This time we didn't look away, we just sat there, my hand holding hers. Our lips still inches apart. I feel like I just want to k-

"Oh wow! That was great you two!!" The director said snapping me out of my thought. We looked at him, pulling our hands away and backing up from each other.

"We have never seen such great chemistry between two  people before" He gushed.

Me and Ella looked at each other awkwardly and them looked back.

That's funny. Two people who hate each other, have great chemistry. I thought.

Then I remembered my thoughts before he said anything.

Did I say I wanted to ki- no, I couldn't have, could I?!

"Well that's it for today, we'll be starting the actual filming next week, we'll send the script in the mail for you two to practice" He finished.

"Thank you" We both said together.

We got up and left the room.

"Soo ugh, good job" She said quietly.

"Yeah you too" I said back quietly. "I'll uh see you later" I said again turning around to leave.

"Wait Walker" She said. I looked over my shoulder, meeting her eyes once again.

"I know we have our differences, but can we put that aside, for the jobs' sake" she asked me.

"Sure" I said quietly. She gave me a small smile before turning around, going out them door.

What the heck just happened?!
