DEATH REALLY DOES FOLLOW HER EVERYWHERE. As the group continues on in search of where Delano told them the camp was, the more death surrounds them. It's like a graveyard. Bodies upon bodies trail the pathway; all from the Ark. Factory station, if Ainsley's memory serves her. She feels laughter bubbling up in her stomach. It's not funny, it really isn't, and she knows this; but she can't seem to fight the humor at the fact that death really does follow her. Bellamy would have been better off to leave her behind in lockup.

She's only mildly interested by Bellamy and Finn's argument about taking a break, or moving on, when the sound of a cry for help reaches their ears. Finn wants to chalk it up as nothing and keep moving. Sterling, however, recognizes the girl as his friend back on Factory station, Mel. He gathers up some rope and immediately heads over to the edge of the cliff, while Finn and Bellamy are too distracted by their argument. Ainsley doesn't bother to stop him. He throws himself off the edge and down towards Mel without a second thought.

If Ainsley had stopped him, then maybe she could have saved his life.

One minute, he has his arm outstretched, about to have his arms around Mel, the next he fell to his death. His screams are loud, before all that's left is silence. Ainsley stops at the edge of the cliff. Her eyes staring down the abyss, at where Sterling had once been, and flickering over towards the girl. Ainsley's brain doesn't register when Bellamy starts climbing down the cliff in makeshift rope from seat belts. What the hell. Sterling just died and now Bellamy's doing the same exact thing with a less sturdy rope. She falls into line behind Murphy. She will not lose Bellamy.

The seat belt snaps apart. Ainsley and Murphy leap for it at the same time, tugging it backwards; but it feels like for every step backwards, the makeshift rope tugs them forward again. Ainsley's hands grip the belt as tightly as her body would physically allow. Bellamy. Her heart hammers inside her chest at the weight of all this. Bellamy. She cries out as her arms are pulled in two totally different directions. Bellamy. She pulls with all her might. Bellamy. This immense game of tug of war continues, and Ainsley can't help but feel like she's on the verge of collapsing. Her bones feel like lead; like she's just barely hanging on.

"Come on, come on!" Ainsley and Murphy yell in unison. Using as much strength as they can to pull Bellamy back up.

As if they're not going through enough; An arrow pierces the ground just next to Ainsley's leg. Finn and Monroe scramble to help Ainsley and Murphy pull the rope.
