No, sorry it's not an actual story, but a discussion, if you may. Now, about Gordon. As you know, built in 1920 as the prototype for the A1 class, he looks different from the actual class. This would be an A1

(or an A3 I'm not entirely sure, but they're similar enough)

Now, he was sent to get an rebuild to the A3 class, most A1 had this upgrade just as WWII starts. He was sent to Crewe (ironically, that's the head factory for the LMS, the rival of the LNER that Gordon's from). For some reason, Wilbert Awdry
decides to keep him in his weird prototype shape, which is kinda weird.

I understand that prototypes usually have some differences to the actual class. But when he was rebuilt, why wouldn't they change him into the normal A3 shape?

So this will be my AU for this particular story. Built in 1920 as the prototype, and was in that shape until 1939. Then he was changed into the A3 shape, you don't need to imagine what it looks like, here's an video. I think it'll be more, realistic for him to be in an A3 shape, as aforementioned, he got an rebuild. For someone like Edward who is an heavily modified K2, it's fine to keep him in his shape in the show, it makes sense, but not for Gordon.

So yeah, Gordon's an A3, not an A0. He's streamlined in my major series though.
