Hearing those words hurts his very soul.
Tyler is one of the strongest people Josh knows.
To hear that note of fear enter his voice-it makes him wonder.
He's been inside Dema, of course.
Lived there for a time, though of course he didn't want to.
But somehow he and Tyler both had different experiences in the city.
He doesn't understand it entirely.
It's affected them both, still does.
Yet, his fren's pain...well, for the most part it seems to be lurking under the surface, invisible, just waiting for the right moment to resurface.
To drag him back under.
That Josh understands.
But he wishes he knew more.
He wants to understand all the way.
But Tyler just shakes his head. "I can't. I can't talk about it."
Somehow Josh was able to see, able to know, some of went on there.
Not all of it.
"Why," Tyler says, and it hurts to hear how tired, how broken he sounds. "Why do you need to know?"
"I don't want them to hurt anyone else," Josh says.
Tyler sighs.
"I wasn't lying. I can't talk about it."
"But..." Tyler says hesitantly, "Maybe I could write about it."
