8. A blank night

Twilight falls calmly. The day ended without a lot of chaos. Well, at least for others. Taehyung was feeling better. He took rest as Hoseok said. Even though the pain was still there. He spent time with his hyungs and Jimin. Jin prepared dinner for everyone and they gathered at the dining table. Confusion took over Taehyung as he found a new face and a missing one.

He sat next to Jimin.
"Hey, how is your health ? "- Jimin asked. "Better"- Tae replied.
"You should rest well and take those medicines correctly, okay?"- Hoseok said. Taehyung nodded at him and glanced at the male next to him.
"Oh, this is Yoongi, my mate. He's our public relations head. And my baby."-
Hoseok said while nuzzling in his mate's neck. Yoongi smiled shyly (?).

"Agh... Only you can make Yoongi so flustered like this."- Jimin commented while smacking Hoseok.

"Hello, Taehyung. It's nice to meet you. I was away from the pack for a week. And now that I heard everything, welcome to crystal moon"- Yoongi said. Taehyung gave his boxy smile and said. "Thank you, Hyung. It's nice to meet you too"

"Yah, where's that brat? Does he forgot about the dinner manners?"- Jin shouted from the kitchen while Namjoon put the plates very carefully on the table.

"That's wow. Jin never lets you touch anything in his kitchen. What's happening to the world now?"- Yoongi said. Namjoon smiled sheepishly.

Taehyung was looking at them fondly. God, how he missed this. There are alphas, betas, and omega's but when they're at the dinner table, they're family. And that's what he wanted than anything.

No rule here saying that omegas shouldn't sit with them. How blessed they're to live like this. Taehyung felt sad for the omegas in his old pack. It was a terrific sight how they mistreated them. And here he is-- witnessing the most strongest and merciless pack alphas sharing their dinner with omegas and betas. This is it; power is to empower others, right?

He felt proud about Namjoon, Hoseok, and other alphas of their pack. He felt proud about the rule of Crystal Moon where there are no ranks at the dinner table; they're family. He felt proud about the one who made the rule
(who apparently wasn't present there).

"...ng... Hyung... Taehyung..."- he heard Jin calling him. Taehyung nodded out of his trance.
"I don't know what's your favorites. So I made a lot. Eat well, kid. You have to heal faster. "-Jin said. Taehyung looked at the table filled with a lot of dishes. The aroma of delicious foods hit his nerves and his mouth watered. He smiled widely.

"Where did Jungkook go? I made his favorite Japchae. Why isn't he here yet? "- Jin said while serving food on his plate. Namjoon noticed the way Taehyung stiffened at his spot. So he decided to change the topic. "He said he has some urgent meeting. I will tell the guard to take his food to the office. Don't worry".

They continued eating. Taehyung knew what Namjoon said was a lie. But he shrugged it off. He has a fair share of the blame for why Jungkook is not here at the dinner table. After their dinner, they went to their respective rooms.

Taehyung felt a heavyweight on his head and heart. Why? Because when he opened the door, the room was empty. He was welcomed with a faint scent of his mate. Besides, his stupid Wolfie was screaming at him for making their mate sad.

He walked to his closet set up by Ja-ki(Jake+Ni-ki). He wanted to change into something comfortable. He searched for a set of pajamas and ended up with his mate's big white shirt. After taking the medicines, he lied on the bed wrapping himself in the duvet.

Taehyung couldn't help but think about today's scenarios. The little argument with his mate wasn't making him any better. No matter what Jungkook said and did, he's still Taehyung's mate. At least his wolf misses him so bad.

The human side of Taehyung is not ready to give in his wolf's whines and missing feelings easily. The fact that Jungkook is his mate didn't give him any right to do and say whatever to Taehyung. The way his mate behaves like the arrogant, cold alpha he's even at the moments where he should be sweet and caring makes Taehyung unsatisfied with the whole mate thing.

But V doesn't care anything like that; he's a stupid STUPID wolf. But the truth is, everything is second for V when it comes to Taehyung's happiness.

The wolf knows his human side is clever, stubborn, a little bratty, and a lot of sassy, but intelligent and smart.
V trusts Taehyung and his instincts. He respects Taehyung's feelings. Even when whining about the absence of his mate, the wolf of omega side can feel the indescribable pain of Taehyung and it makes him sad too. The wolf will do anything to see Taehyung's heart-shaped smile.

"Sleep tight, Taehyungiee... Everything will be okay"- Taehyung heard V chanting inside his head. He smiled and closed his eyes. Soon, the silver-haired male drifted to his Dreamland.
