21. The past

The dinner was crazy. Taehyung was on a Roller Coaster of emotions. He dressed up and walked out of the room to the banquet hall. Everybody was gathered there, having the best time of their life. The sweet melody was lifting the mood with astonishing lights. Taehyung sighed at the sight and stayed back. He didn't want to be a part of this.

He found his alpha-looking snout-fair in his black suit- devilishly handsome. Jungkook doesn't even spare a glance at his mate while Taehyung was killing the girls breathing next to his alpha with his looks. He stood silent, away from them with a glass of wine.

The loud smooth music died down when the head alpha walked to the center, raised his glass for a toast. Everybody looked at him with admiration. For the first time in the dinner, Taehyung felt his alpha's gaze on him. Why the hell this man smirking now?

Taehyung scoffed and avoided eye contact. Jungkook cleared his throat and with a smile, he said.

"Ladies and gentlemen. Today, on this beautiful occasion, I'm grateful that we're all together after a long time. Thank you, everyone. Crystal moon can't be any happier.
At this perfect moment, I wanted to announce something"

"As the head alpha of crystal moon, I would like to welcome our new ally to the strongest bond- Red Crescent pack. Welcome alpha Park Chanyeol."

Jungkook stopped and the crowd clapped loudly. The spotlight dropped on the said male, widely smiling. Alpha Chanyeol hugged Jungkook and said thank you after bowing down in front of everyone.
The crowd cheered and congratulated both of them. Now that their strength becomes more strong, everyone was happy at the fact that now no one can touch any of the packs. Isn't that great? The power.

In those big smiles and waves of laughter, there was a male who stood there like a frozen stone. Taehyung's lungs filled with extra oxygen that he can't breathe anymore. He was thinking life will be better at least once. Fool. Never this is going to happen with him.

Taehyung wanted to run. But where? He wanted to scream. But what? He wanted to cry. But why? Because this- this is what he hated the most. Red crescent, alpha Chanyeol- his old pack.

He was alone in the world of dark, he is. Taehyung isn't scared. But sickened with the sight in front of him, the name ringing in his head, the truth he just witnessed. He was disgusted with his life and fate. Didn't moon Goddess take him out of that grave first? And why is this now?

In this dirty game, there's no way out for Taehyung. Either surrender or die. And you could simply say what's Taehyung's choice will be.

"Surprised?"

It was Yoongi. Taehyung figured out that this man can read his mind easily. He's public relations head indeed. With tears threatening to fall, Taehyung looked at Yoongi. He found the pale man's soft eyes on him already. Taehyung stood there not knowing what to do and what to say.

"I told you, he's the real player"

Yoongi said looking at Jungkook who was laughing with Chanyeol and other guests. Taehyung's blood boiled at the sight.

"He knew?"
Taehyung asked coldly. Yoongi nodded.

"If - If he knew it, then why----"
Taehyung's voice cracked down.

"Taehyung, it's not my place to say that. You've to ask him. But I can tell you- Jungkook knows what he's doing. He knows the strength and weaknesses of the people around him. He knows how to use them. I know it's hard, but-- you've to trust him. "

"Out of all people here, you're the one all he got. "

Yoongi said and left. Taehyung looked at the male and then his mate.  Jungkook knows his weakness and now he used it. What can he expect from him? Taehyung walked away from the hall like yesterday. He lost appetite, happiness, hope - everything. Why would he stay there?
