Arthur's POV
My head snaps up.
"Merlin!" I scream, shaking him. "Wake up! For gods sakes, Merlin, Wake up!"
I don't know when my screams turned to sobs. I collapsed on the chair beside the bed with my head on my dead lovers chest and cried, each sob ripping through my chest like a knife.
I never got to tell him I was sorry for all this pain.
I never got to say thank you.
I never got the chance to show him the ring.
Merlin's POV
I open my eyes. I don't recognise this place. Then my father materialised in front of me.
Am I dead!!???
He looks worried.
"It's not your time." He touches my forehead.
My eyes snap open.
Before I can see anything, I feel the pain.
Stabbing shoots of agony piercing my back all over.
The sight I see is the most heart-shattering thing I've ever seen.
Arthur is sobbing on my chest, sobbing like his heart was breaking.
"Don't go Merlin.... I don't want to be alone! God I love you... please... Wake up...."
"A-Arthur?"
His head snaps up, wide eyed. Before I know what's happening, he grabs me in a bone-cracking hug.
He tries to speak through his tears.
"I thought I lost you and I never want to let you go again I love you so so much and I'm so so sorry and-"
I kiss him.
Short, yet eventful. Jeez, sounds like childhood.
