Tired

I trudged on in evening wind,
Reaching for the birds, the moon, and stars,
I walked so free yet I felt so pinned,
Pinned down by life and tortured by my scars.

Somedays I wake up and I can't go on,
Some days I'm strong enough to keep going,
In the face of life's mountains, I either fight or run—
And wonder what would happen if I just stopped rowing.

The legends say it's easy if you keep your mind right,
Keep pushing through and don't give up the fight.

The world and everything within it is wired
But what happens when we all get tired?
