Purple Misfortune

Reasons, reasons, reasons
Everything happens for reasons,
Today it's rainy, tomorrow it shines,
It can't help but alternate the seasons—
And every day I watch the sky as it aligns.

Her reason stabbed me in the heart,
Her explanation tore me apart,
"Leave, leave" but the pain would never depart,
"Stay, stay" but its already over with no refunds, no restart!

I swallowed the pain to smile,
Still doing the same every day—
Yet, nothing is normal, nothing tastes normal but like bile
I was stupid too stupid to see so what can I say?

Lo and lo the time passes on and on,
The blue in my little floral garden faded yesterday,
The pain is there yet gone—
As I sternly wish I never passed through all of this or I could re-play!

As tears jump out alee from within me and I dance to life's tune,
I struggle (to move, to move) over the hurdle and prune
The thorns that cloud my once beautiful world.

My mind keeps crying to me, "Cross the hurdle man, now...cross it in tune" —
But I'm numb as the last blue sips out and upon opening my eyes,
I see within me, a purple misfortune!
