I don't know whats worse. Having 2 projects, 22 assignments, a 5 page essay and a packet of homework due by the end of spring break, or figuring out that the guy you've liked for the last 4 years just got with your best friend. So yeah, my life's great right now. Can't really decide which is worse, so I'll just say that they're both equally terrible. All I want to do now is finish the last comic in Batman: Shadow of the Bat. It was pretty nice learning about the different characters and vigilantes in this one.

"Mom, Dad! I'm home!" I yelled for my parents when I came in the door. And instead of their voices answering back, I got the demon spawns.

"They're not home right now goober!"

"I can see that half-pint!" That's my little nickname for him. He can be sweet when he wants to be, but most of the time he's not. BTW, I got 'demon spawn' from Damian Wayne from the batman comics and shows. He's one of my favorite characters, besides Dick Grayson of course. I guess I just have a special connection with him since he reminds me of my own little brother so much.

"So, how was school today half-pint?"

"First of all stop calling me 'half-pint', and second of all, school went pretty good." He added emphasis to half-pint by making quotation marks with his fingers. But I noticed something. "You didn't say that it went good today. So, what happened?"

"I got detention for a week for beating up Peter Winners in my class today."

"Well, at least you have spring break before it starts. And plus, it couldn't of gone any worse than my day has."

"Wanna talk about it?"

"I'd rather not." My brother nodded his head and I left the living room. He always understands me when I'm upset. Although, I never understood why my parents named him Colby. I mean, he's not tall, nor dark, nor handsome. Now Batman on the other hand, well let's just say that's another story.

I went into my room after making a couple pizza rolls for a snack, and I was excited to watch the next episode of The Walking Dead. The show hasn't been as good as the earlier seasons, but I still watch it because it's like the only show I'm really into that hasn't ended yet. This is actually a re-run episode, but I missed it when it aired so I'm watching it now.

After the show ended, it was only 6:00, so I decided to play some games with my brother on his ps4. "Come on, come on! Turn darnit!" I was usually really good at this game, but I was sadly losing. "Ha! Yes! I won! Now you gotta do the rest of my chores for the day." He laid his controller down and walked to the other side of his room. "Where are you going?" I asked with a slight annoyance to my tone after my sad defeat."To my friend's house. Duh!" He says this like I knew."Which friend?"

"Dylan." Dylan has been Colby's friend for the longest time. But that doesn't excuse the fact that he didn't mention this until now."Uh, you can't just walk off and do whatever you want. You're only 13 for crying out loud!" "And you're only 15, so you can't tell me what to do!"

That was the last straw."I'm your big sister, so when mom and dad aren't here, I'm in charge! Got it!"

"Well then you'll be happy to know I got mom and dads permission to got to his house last night." He looked at me with this sly smirk. I felt like an idiot."I'm guessing you're spending the night since you've got that bag of clothes." "Yeah, and don't worry, I'll text you in the morning on the crappy emergency flip phone mom gave me."

"Ok, be careful on your way there and have a good time."

"Thanks, I'll see you tomorrow!" With that, he closed the door and the house was filled with silence once more. Mom and dad said that if they weren't home by the time I got back from school, then that meant that they would be away for a while. They both work for this rich family, mom as a flight attendant on their private jet and dad as their personal travel agent. Why they need to bring a travel agent with them on trips when they're only supposed to plan them? I'll never know. And we were supposed to have our own family bonding time this week too. They always suck up to those rich people so they can bring in the dough, but is it really impossible for them to say no once and a while? I try not to judge the rich to harshly, because I know there are some good rich people out there. Like Bruce Wayne for example. Ok, I know he's not real but you get my point. Don't know what me and my brother are going to do these next couple days for fun, but what I do know is that I'll have the big T.V. in the living room all to myself for once.

Man, I wish I could be a hero of the night like Batman or Nightwing. Then I would never get bored. Not to mention the amazing friendships the DC superheroes have with each other. I'm defiantly jealous. But, it's not like my life's suddenly just going to change overnight. I though this as I watched old Disney movies and Young Justice episodes. Soon I was falling asleep on the couch as the T.V. was blaring on my face.

So guys I hope you enjoyed this first chapter! I know it's starting out pretty slow, but I promise you it's going to get better next chapter. Let me know if I made any mistakes and if you would like shorter or longer chapters, cause I know this chapter fell short of just 1,000 words. Somewhere around 920 I think? Anyways I hope you enjoyed and that you stick around! ;)
