Astrid looked around the room wearily, trying to slip through cracks and remain as hidden as she possibly could. Afraid Burke would find her at the wrong time with a mistletoe hanging above her head.

She swore she'd ram it down his throat

Her first thirty minutes had been rather enjoyable—sipping on colourful mocktails and filling her belly with tiny pieces of bread decorated in soft cheeses and ribboned meats

She had turned towards the tall man dressed in black and white—a silver tray in hand that carried cheesecake cups and trifle on it—eager to taste the array of desserts when her eyes shifted to the man's right and met a pair of dark brown ones

Watson Burkes face lifted into the biggest grins he had worn all week, placing his glass down on the round table he and his father were stood at

"Oh Merlin" Astrid hissed, abandoning the server to instead look for the closest place she could hide

She tried blending into crowds and hid behind speakers that blasted her eardrums—finally she gave up and fell onto all fours, crawling under a circular table with a long white linen sheet covering its sides

"Umph—the sound came from both mouthes, Astrid rested on her knees as she rubbed her head, glaring up at the boy who had taken her place of refuge for himself

"Bloody hell do you think you're doing?" Malfoy hissed "this is my table"

Astrid made an unimpressed look, sitting on her bottom instead—as comfortably as she could in the dress she wore "is not"

Malfoy rolled his eyes, sitting next to her with his glass rested infront of his crossed legs "who're you hiding from?

"Burke—she sighed—who else"
