Third person's POV

Arjun cut the call and almost slumped down on the stairs with guilt filled in his heart.

He couldn't figure out what was he guilty of...not spending more time with Grandpa or not telling Meera about him before.

But right now he has to be strong for Meera.

What holds the future is more important for him now.

Meera came by the stairs but was confused watching the scene in front of her.

She saw Arjun's smashed phone on the floor and he was sitting as if his feet swept off the ground.

She sat beside him on the stair.

"Arjun what happened?"

His emotional eyes were enough to scare her.

"Meera I want you to be calm when I tell you this."

"Arjun what is it?"

"Just be strong... okay?"

"You're scaring me Arjun."

She was getting worried with every passing second.

"Tell me Arjun."

"Grandpa is no more."

All the colours faded from her face as she couldn't register what she heard.

"This isn't true...it's a lie. Tell me Arjun...tell me!"

His eyes were enough to tell the sad reality.

She screamed accompanied with tears falling from her eyes.

Meera stood up and started pulling her hair tightly.

"This is lie..."

"I want it to be a lie, but it isn't."

"Noo!"

Her legs gave up and she cried loudly while Arjun came at the right time to prevent her from falling.

"I'm sorry Meera...I should've told you earlier..."

This time Arjun forget to shut his mouth as Meera's mind filled with suspicion.

"What are you saying Arjun?"

She detached herself from him and made some distance between them .

"Nothing...."

"What were you talking about!"

This time her voice was demanding.

"I didn't told you..."

"What Arjun!"

His trembling eyes made it clear for Meera to know his fault.

"Grandpa had cancer..last stage, so I was prepared for this..."

"And you didn't tell me...What about me! "

Her eyes were full of betrayal, none other than from the person she loves.

"Meera I'm sorry..."

"Sorry! The only family I had is gone and you're being sorry for it!"

"Meera I'm you're family now."

He was trying to calm.

"Families don't lie Arjun. And they don't hide things."

This hit him hard. He wanted to take this relationship slow, but this road block was enough to bring back him to square one.
