Sophia's P.O.V.

"I want my children."

After having spent another hour doing nothing but having childish arguments with Blake, I finally sit in one of the chairs and rest my now fully healed wrist on it.

Ethan sits next to me with his hand resting comfortably on my lower thigh. Sometime in the past hour, he changed back to his human form, and to be honest with you, I much prefer him in his human form. Because then, I can go off of his facial expressions and know what he is truly thinking.

Blake scoffs, as he, along with Jackson, sits across from us at the table.

"You act as if we hold them hostage."

I narrow my eyes, "I do faintly remember having you keep an eye on them, Blake." I resist the urge to growl. I know we're acting like children, but I can't help it when it comes to him. He knows how to get me riled up, and I know just how to p*ss him off in the most humorous and glorious ways.

"Are you sure you remember? Because last time I checked, you're having issues in the memory department."

He mocks me with another smug grin, which I'm sure he thinks is attractive. I still can't believe I ever slept with such a... Delusional menace! But to be fair, I was in a rather...vulnerable state, shall we say. I mean, I was freshly divorced from Jackson, and I missed my children deeply. To be honest, Blake's and I's coupling was really just a... shall I say, rebound fling?

But fortunately, my divorce with Jackson was rather both parties' decision, as we knew deep down that our love for each other was nothing more than a simple friendship. Now, Blake has always either flirted or annoyed me. He's almost like your older brother, best fit for hell.

"Watch it, leach."

I don't even feel offended by Ethan's threat to Blake, because quite frankly, he deserves the degrading comment. I know the assault was in a way degrading to me as well since I am indeed a vampire. But because of the situation, I remain quiet towards the comment.

"Huh. You know, it's funny how you werewolves act so high and mighty, but you have to lick yourselves to bathe yourselves when in wolf form."

Blake sneers at Ethan with disgust plastered all over his face. Ethan simply shrugs, seemingly unbothered by Blake's statement, and I slightly laugh as I know that must be p*ssing Blake off so much.

But with a sigh, I straighten in my seat and clasp my hands together on the table, my demeanor becoming serious as I am done playing childish games and ready to get to the bottom of everything.

"Blake, I want the exact locations of my children. Jackson, please contact Charles and let him know I wish to speak with him."

My voice comes out soft but stern. With one final glance towards them, I turn in my seat and face Ethan.

"I wish to speak with my mate alone, so please exit the room."

I hear Blake mumble a few things under his breath about me ordering them around, but after a few minutes, both Blake and Jackson leave the room, closing the doors behind them as they do so.

With a soft smile, I reach out and gently place my hand on his cheek. "I'm sorry that I wasn't able to tell you all about my past before. I'm sorry that you're not my first love, and that I will never be able to have my first child with you. I'm sorry that I somehow seemed to drag you even deeper into the paranormal world, and above all, I'm sorry that I'm not the same girl you met all those weeks ago."
