I look at the contact calling me

I need to go get Karl but one word kept replaying itself in my head

I push the feeling aside and go downstairs
"Umm guys? I hate to rain on your parade but my dad is calling"
"Oh god" Karl said wiping his tears
"Oh shit Karl why are you crying? I thought he said yes" I ask
"It's nothing don't worry"
"Did he hurt you? Cause I swear to god-"
"No! No no no nothing like that" He says
"Ok good. What do I do? I'm supposed to be home by now. He's gonna be mad at me. Screw it, Sapnap you answer it"
I give Sapnap the phone
"Huh?"
He presses answer
"Hello? This is Tommy's phone"
"Oh- uh, hi this is Tommy's father. Is he with you?"
"Don't worry" I mouth to him
"Yeah I know who you are. She is right beside me"
"Well could you give him the phone please"
He clenches his jaw and Karl puts his hand on his arm causing him to calm down. I smile at the interaction
"I'm afraid that's not possible"
"And why is that?" My dad was clearly annoyed which made Sapnap smile
"Because you're an abusive asshole who doesn't deserve her"
"Sapnap!" I whisper yell
He smiles causing me to smile too
"How dare you! Give my son the phone this instant!"
"She's not your goddamn son! If anything she's your daughter but you lost that chance when she told us you were abusive!"
"HE TOLD YOU?! HE IS A FUCKING BOY! AND HE DESERVED EVERYTHING HE FUCKING GOT. HE IS WORTHLESS"
